Permanent, welded jewelry is coming to Emery Bodie! Sometimes called infinity jewelry, welded jewelry is made with delicate chain and welded together without a clasp. It’s the ultimate friendship bracelet, if you will. I’ve been noticing this trend for some time and really wanted to host a party for my girls here in Greenville, but this service doesn’t seem to be offered here….yet. My sister has seen several pop ups near her home in Atlanta and is equally as smitten with this trend. The pop ups always sell out, so she’s jumping on the bandwagon with me and will orchestrate welded jewelry events in and around East Cobb. So, that’s the big news! My welder and chains are already at my house. I plan to play around this weekend and start booking next week. Please let me know if you’re in the Greenville or Atlanta area and would like to book a party. I will also be taking appointments at my house for my local peeps. Shoot me an email.

Lynx by Emery Bodie

My sister and I had so much fun selecting the prettiest chain options for Lynx. We ultimately decided on four gold filled designs and named them after the four most precious items in our lives; our children. Before I show you the Hayes, the Emery, the Kelsey and the Bodie, I want to touch on gold filled vs. gold vermeil vs. solid gold and explain why went with gold filled.

Gold Vermeil: Gold vermeil is genuine sterling
silver that has been expertly plated with a thick layer
of gold. The difference here is the base must be
sterling silver. These pieces are great for
individuals who may have sensitive skin or allergies
to base metals.

Gold Filled: Gold filled jewelry has around 100%
more gold than gold plated jewelry and a much
higher tarnish resistance. It is made by bonding
together gold and another base metal, so there is
gold in the entire piece and not just an outside
coating. It will not flake of or change colors. Gold
filled is a great (and economical) alternative to solid
gold jewelry. This type of gold is easy to maintain
and normally lasts a lifetime.

Solid Gold: Solid gold is the highest in price in
purity. Pure gold is actually too soft for everyday
wear, so it is alloyed with a mixture of metals to give
it strength and durability. Karatage indicates the
purity of the gold, or how much of the metal is pure
gold. For example, 18kt gold is 75% gold, 14kt gold
is 58% gold.

At the end of the day, we opted for gold filled based on price point and durability. We really want our prices to appeal to the vast majority of our friends and their daughters. We are SO excited to get started!

Without further ado, allow me to introduce you to Hayes, Emery, Kelsey and Bodie!

Joey and Chandler: Bracelet Buddies

I hope your week is off to a fabulous start. It’s a busy one here: Saturday was DWTS tour, Sunday was cotillion, Super Bowl and Bodie’s birthday party. Yesterday was all things Valentine’s Day, plus football and basketball practices. Today is Bodie’s actual birthday and he’s playing hooky to ski with his daddy. More on that tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ll be here crying over the fact that my baby is double digits.
