Hubs was on a ski trip last week, but I still managed to have an excellent Valentine’s Day and actually celebrated for several days. First up on my list of V-Day activities was Sips and Stems at the country club. Sips and Stems is a flower arranging workshop with wine. It’s pretty fun, I have to say. My fellow flower arrangers and I made these darling Gerber daisy topiaries.Next on my agenda was to treat myself to a little Valentine’s Day happy, which I found at Country Boy’s garden center. I’m telling you, Country Boy’s is the best in Greenville for house plants and container gardens. The staff is so knowledgeable and the selection is amazing. I was on the hunt for something to spruce up my coffee table and was pretty determined a terrarium would fit the bill. With the help of Dana at Country Boy’s I ended up with this gorgeous arrangement of orchids and succulents to brighten the space and add LOTS of interest. I love orchids.
Speaking of orchids, I’ve had this little guy for about a year and a half and it’s putting on quite a show at the moment. I love getting an orchid to re-bloom. Seriously, one of the most satisfying things in life. They’re such fickle plants. She’s a beaut, Clark!
The actual day of Valentine’s Day started bright and early because Emery just cannot control herself around the holidays….any holiday. She was awake at 5:20 and dressed and downstairs asking to bake strawberry muffins. Oy. But, I did it and it was actually a nice way to start the day….just earlier than I hoped. She was so excited to go to school!
That evening, two friends and I treated ourselves to Galentine’s dinner at the club. Our husbands all happened to be out of town (two on the aforementioned ski trip and one at the Daytona 500 festivities), so we had a girls night and it was delightful.
I went straight from Valentine mode into birthday mode as Bodie turned 7 Friday. How can that be!?!?! We spent the whole weekend celebrating our sweet Peach.

I did a horrible job taking pictures at Big Air, but here’s most of the crew taking a Gatorade break. I love these sweet friends.
Bodie chose to have a smallish birthday party at Big Air followed by a dinner at Chophouse 47 since his favorite food is steak. Done. He loved his steak (and potatoes and crab and bread….the boy can eat!) and saying “cheers” with Opa.
All in all, we had a great week! I think we should celebrate love more often.
