Tree Tour and Other Happenings

Happy Thursday!  I haven’t posted much lately, but that’s not for lack of things to post about.  I’m definitely entering my busy season, plus trying to get the house all gussied up for Christmas.  But before I get to the Christmas stuff, I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge Veteran’s Day yesterday.  God Bless our veterans!  My family has a long military history, including my dad.  He flew A4 fighters in the Navy following his graduation from Notre Dame.  My dad attended Notre Dame on a Navy ROTC scholarship.  Thank you, Dad!

One of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram belongs to Cassie of Hi Sugarplum.  Her blog is also fabulous and I think her sense of style is second to none.  Naturally, when she collaborates with Gibson to create a festive holiday line, I have to treat myself to a few outfits.  Cassie encouraged her followers to submit pictures of us wearing our Sugarplum purchases and to share where we plan to wear them.  I had Emery snap a few pictures of me in new clothes the other day and I sent them to Cassie explaining that this will be my cookie swap outfit.  Gipper and his buddy photo bombed me because they were begging for cookies.  I provided a posed, dog-free photo as well, but Cassie and her team chose the one with the fur babies.  I was shocked to check Hi Sugarplum yesterday and see that the pictures were posted and that I was included.  Thank you, Cassie!

Hi Sugarplum

In other holiday news, I have all five of my Christmas trees up!  Yes, I know it’s early, but I want to enjoy them as long as possible.  I love snuggling into bed each night with a Hallmark movie playing on the television and my tree providing cozy lighting.  Here are my trees:

Christmas Trees

The tree in my monogramming room has a beach/shark/SCUBA theme.

Emery’s tree is all things pink and sweet.

Bodie’s tree has a skiing theme.

My master bedroom is pink and red.  I may just leave this up until Valentine’s Day.

Our family tree is located downstairs and is adorned with all of the handmade children’s ornaments, ornaments from our travels, our Alma Maters and my MacKenzie-Childs collection.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
