Travel Tuesday: Snowshoe, WV

My husband and children just can’t get enough of skiing. Thankfully, they’ve got some good friends who share this mentality. Snowshoe, WV, is about a seven hour drive from Greenville and they honor the Ikon season pass that hubs and his buddy purchased this year for all of their Steamboat ski days. With the forecast promising snow, this crew headed for the mountains Thursday afternoon for a long weekend on the slopes. Emery is lucky that one of her good friends also happens to be an excellent skier and was able to join them for the trip so that Emery wasn’t the only girl.

I’ve been to Snowshoe twice (many moons ago) and never saw conditions this amazing. They truly lucked out. These kids are all used to skiing out west in the fluffy powder, so I wasn’t sure how much they would enjoy east coast snow. No complaints! They said it was awesome.

The condo they rented had the most vital apres ski feature: a hot tub.

When the kids weren’t on the hill, they hit a climbing gym with bungee trampolines.

I received this snapshot Saturday morning….nice to know that the kids are just as messy for their dads as for their moms.

I stayed home with Gipper and his buddy, Sandy, all weekend and I’m not mad about it. I love these mutts!

The sun is shining!

I got some baking done so I had a platter of Barefoot Contessa’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Globs ready when they arrived home Sunday evening.

They’re not much to look at, but they sure taste incredible.
