Travel Tuesday: Palm Beach

IMG_7688Some girlfriends and I treated ourselves to a long weekend in Palm Beach last week and made the most of every moment of our trip.  The weather was perfect (not hot or even very humid, which is unusual for south Florida in May) and sunny and breezy.  We stayed at The Breakers, which is definitely not inexpensive, but the service and amenities are worth every penny.  IMG_7686I could get used to having my morning coffee with this view…

One of the biggest perks of the trip for me was all of the Lilly Pulitzer apparel.  In addition to the Lilly boutique on Worth Avenue, our hotel is also home to its own Lilly store.  I bought a new bathing suit and a dress at the hotel and wore them both on the trip.  The hostesses at the restaurants on The Breakers property all wear Lilly dresses, which is just too cute for words.  IMG_7689

IMG_7683All of our meals in PBI were delicious, whether we were at The Breakers or dining on Worth Avenue.  I didn’t do a great job taking photos because we were so busy laughing, shopping, chatting and people watching, but I did remember to snap a picture of this gorgeous pasta and lovely super Tuscan wine at Bice Saturday night.  Oh.My.Stars.  I cannot adequately describe the amazingness of this homemade pasta, you’ll just have to trust me.  If you’re ever in Palm Beach, go to Bice.

We loved The Breakers so much and found getting to PBI from Greenville to be so quick and easy that we all said we’d like to go back next year.  The flights from Atlanta are less than 90 minutes and the airport is only a fifteen minute Uber ride from the resort.  Add in the short flight from GSP to ATL and it’s a very manageable travel day.

Re-entry has been a bit rough.  I came home to mountains of EmeryBodie orders (yay!) and all the other May-hem/end of school chaos, but the hubs and kids had a blast without me.  They went for bike rides and took friends to Top Golf and had a slumber party and ate pizza and played with the Slip and Slide and….you get the idea.  Daddy is definitely the fun parent!  Each year leaving the kids for a weekend gets easier and easier.  I’m sad that they’re growing up, but also so thankful that they’re becoming independent little people.  Emery was especially helpful with the pets while I was gone.

I need to make getaways with my girlfriends more of a priority.  This weekend was good for my soul.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week.
