I’m writing this post from the South Bend, IN, airport with a full heart. The kids and I are sad to say goodbye to my family, but we are excited about the fun Thanksgiving week ahead with the other side of our family (hubby’s fam).
What a fun weekend we had at Notre Dame! Lots of sunshine and a HUGE Irish victory. Like record setting. But let me back up to Friday night. We had dinner reservations at Rohr’s (my favorite), which is located in The Morris Inn (beautiful hotel on campus). My family loves to unwind in the lobby with a beverage in front of the fireplace and people watch. This never disappoints. On this particular Friday, the very first person we saw when we walked into the lobby was Ian Book! If you’re unfamiliar with Ian, here’s his Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Book. He’s one of the great Irish quarterbacks! And could not have been nicer when the kids introduced themselves and asked for a photo. What a great way to kick off the weekend. We stayed at our usual hotel, The Aloft downtown. It’s my favorite for game weekends.

Saturday was a bit chilly, but not bad at all for a November game. The dome and Touchdown Jesus were showing off!

The Irish were favored by 35, but we ended up winning 70-7 against Syracuse. Unreal.

Sunday was our annual family photo shoot orchestrated by my sister. It’s always so much fun scouting locations on campus for these photos.

Of course we had to squeeze in a trip to the Grotto.

Already counting down the days until next year! Love thee, Notre Dame!
