Travel Tuesday: Grand Haven, MI

This has turned into a bit of a travel blog lately!

We just returned from a fun filled week in hubby’s hometown of Grand Haven, Michigan. We all look forward to this trip every year as it’s a chance to unplug, spend time with family, and enjoy cooler weather. Grand Haven delivered on all of those things!

We spent our days boating, swimming, eating, fishing, biking and even managed to squeeze in a day at an amusement park. A few of Ben’s closest friends live in the area and meeting up with them is always a treat. I took advantage of the pleasant temperatures by running around town and along Lake Michigan several mornings. The waterfront is great for people watching, but the houses in town are so charming that I’m torn as to which is my favorite route.

Visiting Family in Grand Haven, MI
Dinner at Spring Lake Country Club. I wish we saw these cousins more often!
Ice cream at The Pump House while watching the musical fountain. Pure Michigan, indeed.
Boating Fun on Lake Michigan
Stalking Houses
This yard is just as pretty as the house! Everything is so lush and green this time of year.
Spotted this fella on my in-laws’ street. I know the deer are a nuisance in the yard, but I was so excited to see him.
All About That Bass
Bodie’s love for fishing is matched only by his love for skiing.
Beach Bonfire
Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park (Muskegon)
Do you see Bodie? Hint: look for the hair and the open mouth scream
Of course Emery wanted the front row. I’m so glad I ended up on a separate train and was able to get these pictures.
Fricano’s Pizza
No trip to Grand Haven is complete without a trip to Fricano’s! Their pizza is legendary.

I’m excited to be back home for a bit, but extremely thankful for our week in this little town with family and friends.
