Happy first Tuesday of 2024! We left two days after Christmas for the sunshine of El Paso, TX. Ben’s older brother and family live there and it’s a great place to visit. Plus, we love spending time with them. Funny enough, we had already planned this trip when The Sun Bowl announced that Notre Dame would play Oregon State while we were there. What are the odds!?!?! my BIL was able to get a big group of tickets all together and made arrangements for us to attend a fabulous tailgate with some of his friends. It was a perfect day. The cherry on top is Notre Dame won big. Go Irish!

I love the landscape of El Paso. It’s so different from what I see daily in South Carolina. I make it a point to go for a run or a walk several times whenever we visit. These views never get old!

Other than the football game, we mainly relaxed. Ben’s parents also joined us in El Paso and the kids loved having their cousins and grandparents around. We watched lots of football, played lots of games, cooked and ate a ton, and even squeezed in a little dirt biking. It was a wonderful way to end the year. We flew home late New Year’s Eve.

Thanks to my sweet friend, Casey, we had all the fixings for a traditional New Years Day meal of pork, greens, black eyed peas and cornbread upon our return. 2024 is off to a great start!

As much as I love the holidays, I am excited to get back into a normal routine and not indulge as much. Christmas decorations are all down and I’ve got boxes full of donations to take to Goodwill. Feels good!
