We booked a last minute trip down to one of our favorite spots for the long Columbus Day weekend: 30A. Since we were late to the game, our usual hotels were booked. However, the new Camp Creek Inn still had a few rooms left. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware of this hotel. We don’t typically stay in the Watersound area, so it was not on my radar. The lovely concierge at The Watercolor Inn (our favorite) suggested it. It’s not on the beach, which is not ideal, but beggars can’t be choosers. That being said, it’s situated on a beautiful golf course with amazing amenities and a complimentary shuttle that runs you to the beach with full access to Watersound Club. The shuttle will also take you to the town of Rosemary.

The interior is just as gorgeous as the exterior, but I didn’t take any pictures other than the bar where Ben and I watched some late football games Saturday night.

The view from our room gave us a glimpse of the fire pit area and golf course.

The Inn is adjacent to a new neighborhood, Watersound Camp Creek, which I enjoyed running through each morning. I had fun choosing which house I would buy if I won the lottery.

You can probably tell from these photos that the weather was absolute perfection during our stay. October is the best time of year to visit the Florida panhandle.
The Camp Creek Inn has bikes for guests to use, so we hopped on for a donut run to Alys Beach. I could never tire of this view.

We spent most of our time at the beach. One of the biggest perks of the Watersound Club is that beach setup reservations are not necessary; simply show up! The bar at the end of the boardwalk is a nice touch.

Our final day was spent at the Camp Creek pools since we didn’t have a full day before we had to head to the airport (boo!), which was fabulous. Emery and Bodie loved the slide and lazy river while Ben and I enjoyed the hot tub and cabana. None of us wanted to leave!

I always want to be completely honest in my Travel Tuesday posts, so here goes: although the Camp Creek Inn is one of the prettiest properties in the 30A area, I think we will choose Watercolor Inn in the future. The shuttle just isn’t as convenient as we had hoped. I am not sure if the resort was short staffed during our stay or if things are different during the high season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), but I was under the impression upon booking that the shuttle was on demand. In reality, it was almost always a thirty minute wait, sometimes more. This is not a deal breaker, for sure, and every family is different. If you are a pool family or plan to spend more time at the resort, it’s a non issue. But since we enjoy being at the beach and in town, the shuttle wasn’t ideal.
