This isn’t a new year’s resolution because I started this practice back around Thanksgiving, but it’s something I hope many of decide to embrace this year. I’m talking about a gratitude journal. I’ve been hearing a lot about the power of gratitude the last few years and have tried to incorporate thankfulness into my daily thoughts. However, if I’ve learned anything about myself it’s that I am a jotter. I still have a paper planner and paper grocery lists and everything else with no plans to change. Therefore, the idea of writing a few things for which I’m grateful appeals to me.
Seems logical to me that focusing on the good will foster happiness, but here’s an article from Harvard that explains the science behind it: https://www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/giving-thanks-can-make-you-happier You know it’s true if it’s published by Harvard, right?
I chose a cute spiral notebook from Minted for my gratitude journal. I saw these Disney inspired prints while ordering my Christmas cards and just had to get Ariel. I gifted some to my girlfriends who embarked on this journey with me. I chose Belle and Tiana for them, based on their favorite Disney characters. Gratitude Journal

Here’s a sneak peek inside my journal. I choose three things everyday for which I’m grateful. Sometimes these are of the utmost importance, like the health of my children. However, more often than not I list things that seem insignificant, such as “Hallmark movies” or “a clean house.” All of these little things add up and truly make me reflect on how fortunate we are.

One Minute Gratitude Journal

I forgot to pack my gratitude journal when we went on our ski trip last month and I honestly missed it. My journal time is less than two minutes per day, but the effects last much longer. I encourage you to try it!
A bit off topic, but these binder clips make me happy. I use them in my planner, work notebook, travel notebook, book club notebook, etc. Trust me. $10 well spent. See for yourself here: https://amzn.to/3IhuXwt They make finding your place super quick and easy. It’s the little things…..
