Happy First Friday of 2024!
I don’t know about you, but I struggle to find candles I love that are not seasonal. Starting in September I’ve always got a pumpkin spice scented burning. Around mid November I switch to evergreen scented candles. Nest is my go-tofor both of those scents. After the holidays I miss my candles, but don’t want my house to continue to smell like a Christmas tree.
I usually grab a few Capri Blue Volcano candles to get me through these trying times, but I’m ready to mix things up a bit. That being said, I will never not love a Capri Blue Volcano candle. There’s a reason they’re so popular.

Another long standing favorite is the Aveda Shampure candle. I love the scent of Aveda’s hair products, but they don’t seem to work well with my hair. The solution? Buy the candles! The Rosemary Mint is also fabulous. I like to keep these in my bathroom. Burning a candle while taking a bath or getting ready for bed is the ultimate indulgence. I do not recommend buying Aveda products on Amazon. The prices are inflated (Aveda is expensive enough as it is!) and I’m not sure things have been stored properly. So, pop into you local Aveda salon or shop the Aveda web site for these goodies. I hate to pay for shipping, but it is what it is.

Several months ago I was in the waiting room of my Med Spa (go see Heather if you’re local! https://heathersiffri.com/) and I was enraptured by the scent of the candle burning on the coffee table. I looked at the bottom and was delighted to discover it’s a local brand, Bridgewater Candle Company. The scent that made me fall in love with this brand is Sweet Grace. They’re based right here in Spartanburg, SC, and all of their products are made in the USA. Run, don’t walk to order Sweet Grace! Another repeat purchase for me is Tyler Candle Company’s Entitled. Not only does it smell amazing, but the leopard print lid looks so good with my decor. I love the shape of this candle, too. It’s great for sitting on top of a few coffee table books.

Years ago LAFCO made a beautiful candle with amber as the predominant scent. I loved this candle. It was expensive, but it was the most unique, fabulous scent I’ve ever found. I have no idea why, but it’s no longer made. I’ve spent years smelling every amber candle I come across and hadn’t found anything similar until I took a chance and ordered this Black Amber candle from Lulu. It’s not quite as amazing as the LAFCO candle, but it’s pretty close. It’s also A LOT more affordable, which is a win when you like to have a candle burning as frequently as I do. Rounding out the best of the best non-seasonal candles is another Lulu scent: Tobacco spice and vanilla. This scent is a great mix of masculine musk and slightly sweet. It’s the perfect candle for a gentleman who likes the ambiance of a candle. The moody black jar is ideal for a bar or man cave.
