Snow Days….so many of them

My kids are never going to have a normal week at school ever again.  For real.  I’m a bad mom and pulled them out of school a few days before their winter break actually began so that we could enjoy an entire week in Steamboat with family.  Then our first full week back to school for 2018 started with a completely random national championship snow day, followed by a short week for MLK, then three more snow days.  Oh Em Gee.  I have no idea what the day is or what their homework assignments are.  I give up.  Not that I’m complaining.  Although I’m desperate for a routine again, we’ve enjoyed all of this time off.  We’ve gone sledding…

We made it to the movies to see Paddington 2 with a bunch of friends…

Side note:  my mom’s family hails from London and my nursery as a baby was all Paddington.  I adore the Paddington series and all things British.  My kids are desperate to visit London with my grandmother this summer.  Not sure that’s going to happen, but I’d love to try.  At any rate, Paddington 2 is super cute.  I think we all liked it even better than the first Paddington film.  Hugh Grant is brilliant.  Be sure to stick around for the closing credits as some of Hugh’s finest work is featured then.

Emery and I managed to squeeze in a sweet birthday party for her friend, Ayla.  The party was rescheduled once due to icy roads, but it was totally worth the wait.  Ayla’s parents hosted a fun dinner party for the girls at our country club.  The little ladies were told to wear their finest dresses and bring their best table manners.  Not so sure about the manners, but the dresses were gorgeous.  And the cake!

The weather turned sensible again Saturday and I’m thrilled to see normal temperatures (60s) for the highs the next few days.  Our little fam headed down to Clemson to see my beloved Irish take on Clemson in men’s basketball Saturday afternoon.  Although the Irish fell short, we had a lot of fun.  Love thee, Notre Dame!

This is a very photo heavy post, so I’ll wrap it up now.  I hope you’re having an excellent weekend!
