Two weeks ago our local meteorologists all started calling for snow in our area. And not just a dusting, either! I really didn’t believe we would get snow, but I am happy to admit that I was VERY wrong. Winter Storm Izzy delivered and the forecasts were correct. I think we probably got between 6-8″ at our house. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this much snow in Greenville.
We went to bed last Saturday night to just a very cold rain, but woke up Sunday to a yard full of the devil’s dandruff! Even better is that ice wasn’t a problem for us and we never lost power. The kids were up before 6:00 and out in the snow with the dogs. Gipper loves snow. Knute, unsurprisingly, hates it.
Sunday Morning

It didn’t take long for a group of neighborhood kids to congregate on the golf course for some sledding.
Golf Course Day 1

After sledding for a few hours, the kids realized being towed behind a golf cart is way less work!

A giant snowman appeared in our neighbor’s yard. A patriotic one at that!

Day 2 of the epic snow brought some sunshine, thankfully, and more golf course sledding.
Day 2 (Monday….and MLK Holiday)

Tuesday brought e-learning for Bodie and a full blown snow day for Emery. They thought they were excited, but I honestly think they were bored and missing their school friends by Wednesday. Emery ended up back in school Thursday and Friday, but Bodie was virtual the entire week.

We all did a happy dance this morning when he finally walked through the doors of his school. Today was 55 degrees and sunny, which felt SO warm compared to what we experienced last week. I’m good now. Bring on spring!
