Several months ago I picked up a business card from Lindsey, the Greenville Color Queen, at Thornblade’s spring Sip N Shop. I’ve wanted a color analysis for years as I knew I probably wasn’t dressing to my fullest potential. Same for makeup. Lindsey, Greenville Color Queen

I set up an appointment with Lindsey for a base color analysis and arrived fresh faced and ready to discover my season. Turns out I’m a true summer, which didn’t really surprise me. Colors I tend to dislike are the colors that do not work well with my coloring.

I learned that dusty, muted colors look better on me than super bright and vibrant versions. This was the biggest surprise as I really like hot pink. Lindsey’s suggestion is to incorporate that into my wardrobe as accessories, not the main attraction. I also tend to gravitate towards black quite a bit, but apparently charcoal gray is a better option for me.

As for jewelry, I have always loved gold and silver. Thanks to Lindsey’s expertise, I now know that silver tones are better for me than yellow gold.

I left the session with links to makeup for true summer girlies and a virtual color swatch booklet. Several days later, the actual booklet arrived in the mail. I keep it in my purse and will never shop again without it! I’ve had fun on Pinterest searching for True Summer clothing and makeup ideas.
