Saturday Brain Dump

IMG_4170It’s been so chilly at night the past few nights.  Poor Gipper just doesn’t love cold weather.  He takes after his mama.  Bless his heart–he was so cold after his late night potty the other night that he let me wrap him up in my favorite blanket and he stayed like this forever!  I swear, he thinks he’s human.

I’ve had a few fun orders this week.  This sweet apron is heading to Naples, FL.  I love the simplicity of a BIG pink monogram for little girls.

Speaking of adorable girly items, how cute are these tulle pumpkin trick-or-treat bags???  I’m not certain where my customer purchased them, but I’ve never seen such a cute candy bucket.  Emery just HAD to have the new Witch’s Brew concoction from Starbucks this morning.  Of course.  The verdict:  she’ll stick to her usual caramel frapp.  Neither Emery nor Bodie could get past the texture of the chia seeds in the Witch’s Brew.  But, it definitely looks like Halloween!

IMG_4266I don’t particularly love candy corn, but I think they’re pretty, so I usually have a bowl of them on display around Halloween.  I especially love the way it looks with MacKenzie-Child’s Courtly Check as its backdrop.

IMG_4268Another fun order was this cold weather gear for a friend’s ranch.  The Lazy R is a beautiful venue and they are soon opening a riding school.  I’m so excited to see what is in store for this local farm.  How cool is their logo?

I guess I’m in a horsey mood, because I have been collecting worn horseshoes from Emery’s stables.  Her riding instructor is sweet enough to save them for me after the farrier pays them a visit.  It’s good luck to hang a horseshoe above a door, but there are some rules:

  1.  The horseshoe must be worn, not brand new
  2.  The horseshoe needs to face up, like a smiley face
  3.  The door cannot be metal

I hung a horseshoe above each bedroom door.  Not only do I love the way they look, I like the idea of the good vibes they’re putting out there.  And yes, that’s a Christmas tree in Bodie’s bedroom.  I am such a sucker for the holiday season and I just can’t help myself once the Hallmark Christmas movies start airing!  Don’t worry, I only put up the bedroom trees.  Nothing downstairs and certainly nothing outside until after Thanksgiving.  But, nothing beats falling asleep to the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree.

Hubs and I are off to a costume party tonight!  I need to start transforming myself into Amelia Earhart.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
