Happy weekend! I love a routine and, as much as I adore the holidays and vacations, I am a creature of habit and thrive on a schedule. I feel like I am finally able to keep my head above water now that we’re in the third week of January. All that to say, I want to share a few Christmas gifts we received that I never knew I needed. Now that we have them, I can’t imagine my life without them. First up: this genius knife block from Williams Sonoma.
How smart is this!?!? I’m embarrassed to admit that we have a “knife drawer” which, prior to this knife block, was just a disorganized mess of knives. Not only was this not safe, it also wasn’t a good system for the knives. I know the blades suffered from being rattled around in there. However, I was against the wooden block that our knives came in because I didn’t like that the blades weren’t visible. Problem solved. My MIL gifted this to Ben for Christmas but I think I like it even more than he does! I do all of the cooking, for one thing. It’s not just functional; I also think it looks kind of cool. I’m not sure how my mother in law found a black version, but here’s the link to a brown knife block:

If you do not need quite this much storage, the knife block is available in a smaller size as well.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum of gifts is this fabulous book my sister gave me. I love all things British (my grandmother was born and raised in London and it’s one of my favorite cities to visit) and am fascinated by the royal family. I’ve been smitten with Duchess Catherine’s style since the day she and William announced their engagement. Although no longer a part of the royal family, Meghan Markle’s fashion sense also wowed me from the moment she and Harry went public with their relationship (hello, white button down!). The sections dedicated to Diana and the Queen are also enthralling, but I’m particularly fond of Catherine and Meghan. The book is available on Amazon (as well as Barnes and Noble and other retailers). https://www.amazon.com/HRH-Many-Thoughts-Royal-Style/dp/1250625084

Lastly, I discovered this creamer several days ago and I have no idea if it’s a new product or simply new-to-me, but it’s delicious. I am definitely someone who likes their coffee on the sweet side, so consider that when purchasing. I mean, my go-to creamer prior to this was the Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor. So, if you’re like me and enjoy a sweet treat in the form of coffee in the morning, grab this.
And everything tastes better in a “Friends” mug.
The knife block makes an excellent Valentine’s Day gift idea for those hard to shop for hubbies. The HRH book would thrill most ladies I know!
I’m off to watch back to back basketball games and I ain’t mad about it. Have a great weekend!
