Happy hump day! This is the first “normal” week we’ve had in ages and I like it! No long weekend, no weird weather closings, no thirteen hour field trips, no holidays and no birthdays. Feels so good to be back in a routine. I mentioned several weeks ago that I’m in the midst of some house updates and a lot has happened in the past few days. The tiny guest bedroom furniture was sold and hauled off to Tennessee, but the room only sat empty for a day before the new twin bed frames, mattresses and box springs were delivered. Perfect timing! I ordered from Sears and they were wonderful. The delivery crew called right at the beginning of my two hour window and said they would be at my house in five minutes. Wow! That never happens. They quickly assembled the beds and were out the door within ten minutes, I kid you not. You would think Emery and Bodie have never seen twin beds before. They immediately moved into the former nursery/current tiny guest room. It’s pretty cute. They’ve slept in there the past two nights.
Notice that they put Gipper’s bed in between their beds. So cute. Of course he’s choosing to sleep on their beds instead of his own. I am so impressed with Emery’s bed making skills! Who knew? She did all of this herself. The little river otters on the beds are their souvenirs from the Georgia Aquarium last week. They’re adorable. I think we may have to do the otter interaction the next time we visit. And the penguin interaction. And the belugas. I’m so happy my kids share my love of marine life.
Emery and Bodie are moving out of this room tonight because my painters are here right now and this is happening……
I know it looks like Pepto Bismol, but it’s actually Benjamin Moore “Sweet Taffy.” I love it. It may seem a bit much now, but when the rest of the room comes together you’ll see that I’m not totally crazy. #justalittlecrazy
In other news, I’ve stitched a few more baseball bags. Not only does this look good, but it’s practical! As soon as I learn Bodie’s jersey number I plan to stitch that on his hat. Everything else is labeled with Mabel’s Labels. It’s difficult keeping up with all of the baseball stuff when most of the team has similar items.
And because I’m obsessed with my velvet moose dog, I’ll end with this picture:
Gipper goes with me almost everywhere. I realize this is going to be impossible when summer rolls around, but for now he accompanies me on all of my errands. Yesterday he went on a long overdue Wal Mart run with me. Bless his heart. The poor baby barely had any room in the back of my grocery getter by the time I loaded all the bags. The look on his face says it all. Also? #lacroixislife
