So behind! But it’s only because I’ve been super busy enjoying the most wonderful time of the year. We kicked off Thanksgiving week with a visit from my sister and her precious kiddos. Emery and Bodie are so fortunate to have boy/girl cousins close to their ages on BOTH sides of the family. They love spending time with any and all of their cousins. Hayes and Kelsey (my niece and nephew) were lucky enough to be in town when my friends invited us out to their ranch, Lazy R Farms, to ride their world class polo horses. The scenery is just as beautiful as the horses. Emery was in heaven, but all of the kids loved every second.
Bodie, Kelsey, Hayes (on the ground–he needed some convincing to actually mount the horse) and Emery.
Our Thanksgiving decorations are super classy. Who doesn’t love a giant inflatable turkey and turkey wind socks?
Griswold Thanksgiving
We actually went out to dinner on Thanksgiving this year. We’ve never done that before, but it was kind of a small gathering (just my in-laws joined our little family of four) and my mother in law was wanting to try Hotel Domestique, so that’s what we did. We may have a new tradition! I’ve been to Hotel Domestique twice before, but both times were during the summer. I think it’s even prettier in the fall. The hotel is quite small, but spectacular. I believe it’s only about a dozen rooms. The lobby, bar and restaurant are luxurious in a casual way. The food and service are top notch. It’s only about a thirty minute drive from Greenville, but feels worlds away. I can’t recommend it enough! We enjoyed a night cap by the fire pit before heading home. Heavenly.
I can’t believe how old Emery and Bodie look in these pictures. Emery’s fake nails aren’t helping.
From Thanksgiving decor to Christmas! Once again I ordered fresh greenery from The Cancer Society of Greenville County for our windows and doors. I hang everything with a hot pink satin ribbon and call it a day. The evergreen cross is a new offering this year and I love it.
Moving onto some EmeryBodie LLC items….
Newborn baby hats. Gotta keep those little heads warm this time of year. I believe this customer purchased these at Wal Mart. So cute.
I’ve been making these little Elf on the Shelf cookie plates recently. The mini Chips Ahoy cookies are the perfect size for an elf. Our elves hadn’t arrived when I took these pictures, so Barbie was a stand in. Poor girl wrecked her diet.
When our elves finally did arrive, they did so in style! They were delivered in special balloons with a basket and instructions for Emery and Bodie to fill the basket with toys to donate. I’m happy to report that they did so immediately and we dropped them off at Goodwill the very next day.
That’s all the time I have for now…..I hope to be back to posting more regularly again next week. Tis the season!
