Today is the final day of our three day weekend. Woohoo! It’s so nice having an extra day to recharge. Our weekend was fun. We’ve got to tackle student-parent conferences this afternoon, but then hope to squeeze in one more activity before getting back to the grind tomorrow.
The kids kicked off their weekend by going to work with their daddy Saturday morning. Ben needed some floor painted in his factory and the kids thought this sounded like fun. In all honesty, I can’t believe my husband took them. I thought it was a terrible idea. I was picturing paint everywhere but where it needed to be, but they proved me wrong. The kids had a blast and I *think* the floor job is complete.
They took a break for some snacks and a game of Spot It. My whole family loves that game. It’s great for all ages.
Emery went to a friend’s slumber party Saturday night and gifted her this fun mug with a Starbucks gift card. I can’t believe all of these nine and ten year olds are so into Starbucks, but they all seem to love it. The mug is Ozark from Wally.
After the sleepover, the kids had some friends over to play. The weather was gorgeous and I adore having the doors wide open while a gaggle of kids run in and out. I fixed this Kiddie Crudites platter for lunch and the kids gobbled up every last bite. I swear, I think some of my kids’ healthiest snacks and lunches are the result of this. If I were to put the items on individual plates for each child, it would not all have been eaten. Maybe it’s a survival of the fittest thing???? At any rate, it’s a win win. Less dishes, more fruits.
Of course Bodie had to have a friend spend the night Sunday night since Emery got to attend a sleepover Saturday night. Fine by me! His best little buddy came over around 9:00 and they were asleep by 10:30. I didn’t hear a peep out of them until 7:30 this morning. That’s pretty good for a sleepover. They looked so warm and cozy with Gipper in the bed last night. It was COLD!
Fingers crossed for good meetings with the teachers this afternoon. Happy Monday!
