Sunday, August 2nd, was National Sisters Day and I’d be remiss if I didn’t celebrate the bond between my sister and me.  For those of you new around here, I’ve got an identical twin sister, Alison.  We are closer than close!  Even though she’s in Atlanta and I’m in Greenville, we talk every day and try to see each other as often as possible.  Work and kids make that harder than ever, but we never go more than a few weeks without a quick visit.  Alison and I attended Notre Dame together, got married within a few months of each other and had our first babies within a few weeks of each other!  We each have one boy and one girl.  Also, our husbands are both from the midwest and have the same initials.  Kind of bizarre, but also very fun.

Alison is also my dive buddy for life.  We both love the ocean all things sharky.  We are certified SCUBA divers and decided last year, for our fortieth, to take an annual sisters dive trip.  Unfortunately, COVID ruined that this year, but we enjoyed every second of our trip to Grand Cayman last year.

Another shared passion is our love for the Braves and Chipper Jones.  We met Chipper at his book signing several years ago.  Our lives are complete now.

There’s no one else I’d rather dive with, stand in line for hours to meet Chipper Jones with, or freeze my ass off at Notre Dame games with than my sister.  Happy National Sisters Day, Alison!

I am not going to lie, as much as I love having a boy and a girl, I sometimes worry that Emery doesn’t have a sister to do life with her.  Thankfully, her brother is pretty spectacular (I’m biased, I know) and her girl cousins are wonderful little ladies and she’s very close with them.

Have a great Tuesday!
