My wish list gets less exciting every year. The current version consists of lots of stuff for around my house, especially the kitchen. I’ll start with that in case any of you are also really into cooking this year. And laundry. First up, the pink Food Nanny batter bowl. Clearly I need a butter crock to slather Kerrygold on my bread. This is actually something I stress about daily. I like room temperature butter, so I typically leave a stick sitting out. However, I worry about icky bacteria. Supposedly a butter crock keeps germs at bay while maintaining a spreadable temperature. I use my digital scale daily. The inexpensive one I purchased when I first dipped my toe into the sourdough waters works great, but I can’t help but think a Smeg scale would spark joy every time I see it. Last year I swapped out all of our plastic cutting boards for wood. The amount of plastic we ingest from plastic cutting boards is staggering, so I only use wood now. The award for least exciting Christmas gift ever goes to this laundry basket. Yes, it’s beautiful. But, it’s still a laundry basket. My laundry room is very visible in my upstairs hallway. The plastic laundry baskets that line up in front of the machines are not exactly aesthetically pleasing. While pricey, these are quite possibly the prettiest laundry baskets I’ve ever seen. That’s enough household stuff…let’s move on to something a bit more exciting: fashion. I do not have much need for very dressy items these days, so everything on my wish list is wearable for day to day activities: school sports events, book club, church, and date nights.
