Mother’s Day Gift Guide

The easiest gift guide each year for me to curate is my Mother’s Day gift guide because all I have to do is think of things I would love to own. It’s not difficult to come up with a variety of items from home, clothes, jewelry, etc. I also included a few items I already own and can’t live without. In fact, I’ll start with those. Without further adieu…

My Dyson stick vac. Before you tell me this is a “danger zone” gift, let me assure that purchasing a vacuum for someone for Mother’s Day is perfectly acceptable if the intended recipient asks for it. This was actually my Mother’s Day gift two years ago (I begged for it!) and, rest assured, it’s probably my most used gift ever. I love it. This little thing makes keeping the high traffic areas clean a breeze. We keep it mounted to the wall inside the pantry. It doesn’t take much room, the battery life is impressive, its weight is minimal and the light ensures no crumbs/fur/grass are left behind. Speaking of Dyson products, my mom stayed at my house while we were out of town for spring break and fell in love with my Dyson hair dryer. She actually fell in love with the stick vac, too, so I think Alison’s family will get her one of those for Mother’s Day and I’ll get her the hair dryer. The price of the dryer seems ridiculous, but it really does cut down on drying time and my hair is less frizzy when I use it. I seldom travel with my Dyson hair dryer because I’m the carry on queen lately, but I ALWAYS miss it. I guess I need to make more of an effort to fit it in my suitcase. Mine was a Christmas gift several years ago and it was a huge surprise. Emery talked Ben into buying it. I use it almost every day and I love it. You are probably tired of me singing the praises of my Kindle, but here I go again. Everyone needs a Kindle Paperwhite. I can’t describe how incredible it is to hear something about a book and just seconds later have it in your possession. I use mine every day. No glare. No eye strain. Instant downloads. Unreal battery life. Weighs nothing. No more books to cram onto my already full shelves. Any reader will love this, even those who say, “but I like the feel of a real book.” I used to be one of those people. I was wrong. Shop it here: https://amzn.to/41teCND

Now on to the wish list goodies I do not own…yet.

I realized several weeks ago that I am in dire need of cute dresses that are appropriate for watching Bodie’s golf matches. In other words, they need to be cool, comfortable, look good with tennis shoes and meet course dress codes. I stumbled on this dress on the Nordstrom site and it checks all the boxes. Bodie, if you’re reading this (I’m sure you’re not), I’d like this dress for Mother’s Day: https://go.shopmy.us/p-52044534. The butter yellow is perfect for hot summer days.

Sierra Madre Golf Dress

Now for some cute athletic shoes to go with the dress. I’m having a Puma moment and I’m torn between two styles: Arizona and Palermo. I guess I should get both, no? The colors of these are perfect for spring and summer. They would look great with shorts, dresses, leggings, jeans, etc. Let’s be real, I’d probably wear them year round. Shop the Arizona here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-52046275

A gorgeous sun hat with a wide brim is also a necessity for warmer months. I’ve shared these Corazon Playero lids in the past, but they’re worth mentioning again. I still don’t have one! They’re pricey, but they would get lots of use: pool, beach, lake, golf, etc. The Leonor Confetti jumps out at me: https://go.shopmy.us/p-52052363

My SIL gifted me a Squeeze De Citron for Christmas years ago and it’s been my favorite pool/beach bag since. Emery steals it from me quite often. Three plus years of heavy use and it’s still in perfect condition. The cherry on top is that they’re made from recycled plastic bottles. I just realized that Squeeze De Citron bags are available at Dillard’s! The Zanzibar design (size medium) is calling my name. I would love another SDC bag so Emery and I can each have one. I also love Sconset. The blues are striking and Sconset is my favorite beach on Nantucket. So there’s that. Shoot, maybe I need three? The pom pom is included. Shop Zanzibar here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-52061681 and Sconset here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-52061854.

Squeeze De Citron Totes

Some fun jewelry is a necessity with these colorful bags and shoes, n’est-ce pas? I’m not certain these baubles will arrive by Mother’s Day, but I’d be happy with a printed photo letting me know a piece from Molly Bee is en route to me. The gemstones in this band are perfection. I would never take it off! Shop here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-52171903

A bracelet (or two) that also plays well with everything else I’ve shared would be much appreciated. Lagos is on my radar in a major way lately (even though it’s been around forever) and I’m torn between the following two bracelets for my first Lagos piece: the three station X caviar or the pink ceramic station caviar. I love that the X is two tone and matches everything…but the ceramic station is PINK!!! How am I supposed to choose? Maybe a Lagos stack is what I need? They’re both available at Nordstrom here:

As you know, I jumped on the Mahjong train earlier this year. I haven’t had a chance to play much lately because spring = crazy, but I have high hopes for summer. So much so that I want a travel set of tiles so that I never have to go without. Amazon has a solid selection of travel Mahjong supplies at an excellent price point.

I love this little tile set. The dragons are dogs and the jokers are cats. Plus, the bag is adorable. BONUS: PINK racks are included! Yes, you read that correctly. Pink. Add to cart here: https://amzn.to/4t6BAWS

Travel Tiles and Racks

Of course a travel mat is also needed for your Mahjong Mama. This Amazon option comes in several colors and is nice and compact. https://amzn.to/47QTNPS

As always, I hope this list inspires you to start shopping for the mamas in your life…or curating your own wish list.

Happy (Master’s) Sunday!
