I just cannot get my act together lately. I know the problem: May-hem. May is usually my busiest time of the year and 2021 is proving to be no exception. Between Mother’s Day, teacher’s gifts, end of season gifts and graduation gifts, I’m swamped. It’s a good problem to have, though, so I’m not complaining.
Speaking of graduation gifts, this installment of Monogram Monday (on a Tuesday) is all things graduation. Our first few announcements are trickling in and my go-to gift for high school graduates is always something little and tangible, paired with a check or an Amazon gift card.
Amazon gift cards are found at Publix or most other grocery stores, but you can also order straight from Amazon.com and they arrive in a pretty box that looks like a graduation cap. Since I do not love to give only a gift card, I always try to think of useful, fun gifts that a new grad may need. Option one: Dopp kits and cosmetic bags. Whether living in a dorm, fraternity/sorority house, or apartment, these will get lots of use. Not only do they corral toiletries in one’s new living quarters, they also make travel back home to visit Mom and Dad a breeze. My little shop has several options for gents and ladies. Also pictured are some pretty oyster shell trinket dishes that are perfect for holding jewelry, loose change and more. I love gifting these to grads with a card that reads, “the world is your oyster.” I have several of these in my own home; one on my nightstand and one near my kitchen sink. The equivalent of a cosmetic bag for the gents is a Dopp kit. My shop carries handsome waxed canvas Dopp kits in two colors: black and gray. The black has a slate bottom and the gray has a chocolate bottom. Both colorways lend themselves to numerous thread choices for monogramming.

Moving along to another new reality for many college students: laundry. May as well make it cute with a monogrammed laundry bag! These also make great group gifts because the price point is excellent. Also? This is a good idea for both fellas and ladies. Laundry bags
Another fun gift for ANYONE, not just grads, is a Swig tumbler or water bottle. Once again, pair it with a gift card or some cold, hard cash and you’ve got a graduation gift sure to please. I’m drinking out of my 32 oz Party Animal Swig tumbler at this very moment. It’s my favorite cup and keeps me motivated to drink water all the live long day. Not just because it’s pretty, but because it fits in a car cup holder. That’s a deal breaker for me when it comes to tumblers! The water bottles are 20 oz and their slim design makes them the perfect fit for backpack pockets and tote bags. Plus, the ring on the lid makes for easy carrying.
