Our streak of busy weekends continues, with no end in sight. However, I can’t complain when most of the stuff filling our calendars is pretty cool. Saturday greeted us with a litter cleanup project near hubby’s factory. I realize this may sound like a punishment, but the kids loved it. We all had a good time, in fact. The weather was beautiful and we were in good company. Anderson County did an excellent job providing the volunteers with equipment, coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts! #willworkfordoughnuts Emery and Bodie were oddly excited to wear the neon vests and use the picker sticks (not sure about the actual name, but I’m referring to the grabber thingamabobs). We got to keep the grabbers. Score! I joked to my family that Emery is practicing for her prison detail. I’m mostly just thrilled nobody got hit by a car.
Bodie’s day got even better when, after the litter excitement, Daddy loaded him up and headed west to Johnson City, TN, for Wrestlemania. I kid you not. Bodie’s obsession with WWE wrestling is still going strong, so I checked the tour schedule and realized Johnson City isn’t too far from us–about 2.5 hours by car. Ben took his “fun car” and they ate at a Waffle House and stayed at a Hampton Inn with a free breakfast. Bodie was in heaven. He got a belt, a hat and a tee shirt at the event and their tickets were very good. Hubby splurged. YOLO, right? I’m certain it was the best 24 hours of Bodie’s life. I think Daddy had fun, too.
While the boys were living large at Wrestlemania, I tackled some monogramming orders. Emery hung out at the stables for a bit and then had a friend over to play and watch “High School Musical.” I had a large (for my little company) order for a bunch of graduation gifts. These are being presented to the first graduating class at a small, but growing, private school. I think it’s such a cute grad gift! I used the school’s royal blue for the monograms, but can do pretty much any color. I had a request for something similar for some girls heading to camp this summer and found similar bags in navy. The girls requested Lilly vinyl for their monograms. #done I love that these bags have backpack straps and a pocket.
My heat press got a major workout this weekend. In addition to the laundry bags, I made a few shirts for Emery, Bodie and their friends to wear during their adventure race next Sunday. Of course D wanted something with potty humor involved in their team name and design. Bodie and C let me come up with a name and design for them, thank goodness. Bodie’s first idea was to call themselves “The John Cenas.” Heavens to Betsy.
It’s difficult to tell in the pictures, but the vinyl used on all four shirts is brown. It looks black in photos. I was going for the color of dirt.
I’m off to bed! Monday, I’m coming for you!
