This weekend was crazy busy, but so much fun. And the weather was gorgeous. Things got off on the right foot Friday morning when I won my tennis match. My tennis team is not super competitive and we don’t take things too seriously, but it’s always fun to win…especially because I got spanked in my first match of the season. After tennis I had some time before picking up the kiddos for horseback riding to stitch these shirts for a friend. She had some old Lilly bedding that she no longer needs (she now has two sons) and asked if I could use the patchwork design to make some appliques for friends’ little girls. Happy to!
Emery on her beloved Choo while little brother dutifully watches. Em got to ride bareback the last few minutes of her lesson.
Petal patch applique with Lilly seashell fabric. I love pink and green! These are the exact colors from my wedding almost eleven years ago and they still make me happy.
My sister and her kids came up from Atlanta late Friday night so they could watch Bodie’s baseball game Saturday. My nephew is an excellent ballplayer and Bodie’s coach let him act as third base coach for the Nationals. Cutest thing EVER. Bodie played first base this game and mama was a nervous wreck.
My parents came to town for the afternoon Saturday so they could watch Bodie’s game, too. Such a fun treat for Bodie to have an audience. After the game we all went to Emery’s stables so she could introduce everyone to her favorite horses. We had the best time feeding the horses peppermints and just enjoying being outside in the warm sunshine.
The fam all left Saturday night and Sunday was all about Emery’s third grade Civil War project. She chose to create a diorama of Drayton Hall in Charleston. This was actually kind of a fun project as I love all of the history in Charleston. Bodie went to a birthday party, so Emery and I were able to set up camp on the back porch and enjoy the weather while focusing 100% on the task at hand.
Time to tackle the week! Gym, laundry, monogram.
