This week’s Monogram Monday is extra fun because it involves the Harlem Globetrotters! Well, not directly, but kind of. The Harlem Globetrotters played two “games” in Greenville this past Saturday. A local gymnastics competition team performed at halftime and asked yours truly to monogram some hair bows to match their leotards. I love monogramming hair bows. They’re quick and easy and really take an ensemble to the next level.
One of the globetrotters came to my kids’ school earlier in the week for a little exhibition and the kids got off the bus that afternoon completely smitten with what they’d seen. I kind of wanted to see my bows in action, so I bought four excellent tickets and we enjoyed a fabulous family night out. I was so busy enjoying the Globetrotters that I didn’t take many pictures, but here are a few:
The precious gymnasts wearing EmeryBodie bows! I didn’t get a picture of the backs of their heads, unfortunately.
So much fun. If the Globetrotters are in your neck of the woods, I can’t recommend this show enough! The kids, hubs and I were thoroughly entertained.
Excuse the horrible lighting in the first picture, but I finished stitching these at about midnight and snapped a picture that night. Only for a good friend would I do this…..Saturday evening as we’re getting ready to walk out the door to attend the Harlem Globetrotter’s game, a friend called me and said she needed names stitched on pajamas by 8:30 Sunday morning. Ahhh!!!!! She said she would stick them in my mailbox if I could get them done in time. Of course I said “yes.” She’s a good friend and her daughter is the sweetest! How could I say “no?” I also happen to be dear friends with the mother of the other little girl receiving a pair of pajamas, so this was a doubly whammy. Obviously I was going to find the time to stitch these jammies! These cute girls wore the pajamas while staying at the American Girl Hotel in Atlanta Sunday evening as part of a birthday celebration. They’re from Wal Mart and are super soft and cozy. And less than $10 a pop. Score!
After the jammies were picked up, Emery and I headed to church and then enjoyed brunch at the country club with friends afterward. Emery and O met in K4 and even though they now attend different schools and sometimes go months without seeing each other, they remain close friends. It doesn’t hurt that O’s little sister is adorable and her parents are tons of fun. I had to snap a pic of Emery in her outfit. She is looking so old to me now!
I drink my coffee most mornings while driving the kids to school. I LOVE a good coffee mug and am a little picky. I recently discovered these Le Creuset mugs and I’m obsessed. I love all of my Le Creuset products that I use when cooking, but I only heard about their mugs last week. The reviews are top notch and I just had to try them. Amazon Prime for the win! All of my LC items are this “palm” green color, which makes me super happy. The reviews are accurate: these are nice and hefty, look great, keep my coffee warm longer than a regular mug, and fit nicely in my car’s cupholders. Treat yo’ self. These would make great Valentine’s (or Galentine’s) gifts.
The kids and I spent the afternoon with a bunch of friends at The Kroc Center’s pool. They had so much fun on the indoor water slide and pool playground. It was the perfect way to spend this freezing day off from school. Happy birthday, Dr. King!
