Monogram Monday and Our Weekend

You know the old saying, “a Sunday well spent leads to a week of content?”  I truly believe this is the most accurate thing I’ve ever heard in my life.  Every now and again I bust my a$$ on a Sunday and attempt to tackle a lot of items usually reserved for Monday.  When this happens, my entire week runs more smoothly.  Yesterday after church I came home and did my meal planning for the week, which included making my huge Publix list.  I went ahead and tackled Publix, plus went to PetSmart to get crickets for Emery’s tarantula, Rosie.  In between my errands, I did a bunch of laundry and changed all of the sheets.  Hubs was actually home yesterday and the weather was damp and dreary, so he was on hand to watch the kids (otherwise known as “watch golf all day while kids play with friends in the basement”), which was super helpful.  No way would I have managed such a big grocery list with the kids in tow.  At any rate, my Monday is moving along nicely! Of course I still have laundry to do, plus I need to hit the gym for a run on the treadmill, but I’ve got some fun stuff planned later this afternoon.

This is kind of random, but I had to pop into Ace Hardware yesterday for some steel wool.  Ace always has really cute items that I’m surprised to see in a hardware store.  For example, the Ace closest to me always has the best selection of Yetis and Simply Southern tees.  I was ecstatic to discover a display of Snoozies yesterday!  I love Snoozies.  I think the sequin style is tons of fun and look adorable with my Lilly Pulitzer pajama pants.  And of course I have the wine pair.  I’m thinking the flamingo design needs to be in my life. Snoozies wash really well.  I always take a pair when I’m traveling (ew–hotel carpets freak me out) and throw them in the wash as soon as I get home.  These would make great Galentine’s gifts.

Moving on to the monogram portion of Monogram Monday…..I monogrammed a bunch of aprons for a kids’ pizza making class at our country club this past weekend.  The little ones made pizza with the chef while the adults enjoyed a child-free dinner in the dining room.  Win-win!  I snuck into the class to snap a few pictures and it was adorable.  And chaotic.

While at PetSmart I couldn’t resist picking up a toy for Gipper.  I saw this plush, squeaky shark and just had to get it.  I’m obsessed with sharks.  Unfortunately, Gipper made short work of his new friend.  RIP Bruce.  You were fun for about thirty minutes.  I’m still cleaning up fluff.

Have a great week!
