I have some fun Monogram Monday items to share, but first I want to recap our Sunday.  We had a wonderful day doing nothing extraordinary, but it was a meaningful and intentional day.  I love Sundays like yesterday; the perfect mix of fun, relation and production.  The plan was set in motion Saturday night when our local news mentioned that the western North Carolina mountains were getting decent snow.  The snow forecast still looked good this morning, so Bodie and Ben loaded up the truck and headed to Cataloochie.  I love that this little mountain is so accessible.  Since the kids got all of their own ski gear for Christmas, we don’t have to worry about renting or getting fitted.  Just show up and ski! benandbodie

Emery and I had plans to attend church with some friends we don’t get to see very often and she really didn’t want to miss out on that, so we stayed behind.  After church we went to Wal Mart so I could get some groceries and Em could get some beads.  We ate a delicious lunch at Emery’s favorite, Schlotzsky’s, and then headed home to our warm, cozy house for a day of bracelet making (Em and Liv) and laundry (me).  I love getting a head start on my week.  Mondays are always less Monday-ish when my Sunday is productive.  While the mountains are getting snow, we’re just getting a nasty cold rain in Greenville.  This is how Gipper spent his Sunday:img_5737After I finished unpacking, organizing and taking down Christmas last week, I got around to some monogramming.  First up, my MIL gave me some beautiful, thick hand towels for my downstairs powder room for Christmas.  The graphite color matches my doors perfectly and pairs so well with blues/aquas in that room.  I matched my thread to the vibrant blue flower in the wallpaper and used the cotillion font.  img_5693Hunter thinks the new towels are the perfect shade of gray. img_5695My dear cousin who I do not get to see nearly often enough gave me a few of her older son’s jon jons and asked if I could salvage them for her second little boy.  I LOVE requests like this because I feel like often times people are reluctant to monogram pricey items because they want to be able to consign or hand them down.  But here’s the thing:  almost everything can be fixed with an applique!  And sometimes the “after” is better than the “before.”img_5717img_5731Another fun project is this Galentine’s happy I stitched to give as a hostess gift with a Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap.9562fdfd-2397-4389-8da0-1887e36bd4fbI actually monogrammed this saddle pad several months ago as part of Emery’s Christmas gift.  She finally got to use it Friday!img_5719

I hope you have a great week!
