Happy Monday!  I know Mondays aren’t usually the best, but this Monday actually feels like fall, so I am a happy camper.  October is my favorite month, so these past few weeks of ultra steamy (hot, muggy, sticky) weather have been disappointing.  But this week is supposed to be gorgeous.

I mentioned several weeks ago that we’re still adding the finishing touches to the exterior of our house…..and a major item was checked off the list several days ago:  Chippendale railing above the front door!  I am smitten.  I chose a curved Chippendale design because I thought it would work better with the round columns and ultra traditional style of the house.  The railing is made of PVC so wood rot won’t be an issue (apparently this is a common problem with Chippendale designs because water settles in the cracks) and had to be custom made.  It was totally worth the wait!  I never minded the black metal railing we had before, but now that the Chippendale is in place I can’t imagine it any other way.

In other news, Emery orchestrated the most darling backyard wedding Saturday afternoon.  Emery, Bodie and the kids from next door (how lucky are we to have super fun neighbors?  The kids have worn a path between our two houses) set up chairs, created an aisle out of a yoga mat, donned “fancy” clothes and asked Alexa to play “wedding music.”  Cutest wedding ever!  And, as my MIL pointed out, probably the cheapest wedding we’ll ever have to pay for.

Of course Gipper and his BFF, Sandy, were in attendance.  I think the giant banana officiating the ceremony is the best part!  When the giant banana announced “you may kiss the bride,” Emery’s groom ran for the hills!  Emery couldn’t have cared less.  All she wanted was to wear a pretty dress and get a fancy ring.  Mission accomplished.

I’ve been super busy with life lately (hubs was out of town this weekend, more on that tomorrow) and I’m prepping to host a huge party for The Junior League of Greenville this week (more on that Thursday), so EmeryBodie hasn’t seen much action.  I did, however, manage to stitch out this Etsy order for a little baby boy to wear on Halloween.  He will match his older brothers in their Chuggington costumes.

That’s all she wrote!  See you tomorrow!
