I’m wrapping up gift guides and Deal Days with the trickiest group: the menfolk. I really try to curate a list of items that will actually be used and maybe make life a little easier. The adult men in my life do not ask for much. Anything they need or want, they tend to buy for themselves in the moment. That being said, I think I’ve got some winners here!
The first item is a bit niche, but Ben truly needs one of these: a firewood splitter. His current method leaves a lot to be desired and probably isn’t all that safe. IYKYK. I’m not certain if these are having a moment or if they’ve always been a thing, but Xtratuf boots are brilliant. Funny enough, Emery has a pair (pink, of course) and they get way more wear than I expected when she bought them. Sure, they’re technically fishing boots, but they’re brilliant for all sorts of mucking around activities. I think a pair of these in the mud room for every member of the family is a great idea. I’ve learned that males are pickier than females when it comes to face coverings while skiing. Ben’s brand of choice is Buff. He will only wear the Original EcoStretch buff because it’s the perfect weight and long enough to go over his head before donning a helmet. He’s got a system. This next item is definitely a necessity on a ski trip, but I can think of occasions when a boot dryer would come in handy at home as well. There’s nothing worse than cold, wet boots and gloves, These are small and portable enough that I will likely get two sets since they are on sale. Our Steamboat place of choice has a boot room with dryers, so I didn’t really put much thought into how essential bringing your own dryer is until we stayed in a house without them. Speaking of golf balls, I just recently learned what a valuables pouch is. Apparently lots of fellas use a Crown Royal from college for this purpose. Not anymore!
