Little Black Dress Initiative

The Junior League of Greenville held its inaugural Little Black Dress Initiative this past week.  The LBDI is a social media driven fundraising campaign that uses the “little black dress” to bring awareness to those less fortunate and The JLG’s mission to help families in the community.  During the week long campaign, 30 (maybe more?) JLG members, myself included, wear the same LBD every day with a button that says “ask me about my dress.”  Each participant set up a Causevox site and accepted donations.  I’m thrilled to report that the JLG surpassed its goal of $15,000.00 within the first four days!  This is a really neat way to fundraise.  Other Junior Leagues around the country (and in London) have held this same event and it really does get attention.  Below are some of my photos from the week.  Thank you, JLG, for all you do for our wonderful city!

Don’t worry–I washed the dress between wears.  Have a great weekend!  We’re off to Atlanta to see the REAL Santa at Phipps Plaza today.
