It’s That Time Again…First Holiday Gift Guide: Teen Girls

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: teenage girls are much easier to shop for than teenage boys. So it makes sense that I’m starting this year’s gift guide with Emery’s wish list. Tomorrow I’ll share mine. Bodie and Ben (adult men are truly the most difficult; I’m open to suggestions) will be last. I broke Emery’s list into several categories: tech, everyday attire, ski attire, stocking stuffers and miscellaneous. I’ll share in that order.

The most difficult gift to procure this year (and, sadly, it’s on a lot of wish lists) is the Canon Powershot G7 Mark III. I’ve been on the “notify me when available” list on the Canon web site for over a month. I finally received a notification and immediately clicked on the link…which took me to a virtual queue…which lasted over ten minutes. To the surprise of no one, I did not get a camera. It sold old out again by the time I got to the head of the line. It’s available on Best Buy and Amazon, but at a much higher price than the MSRP. All that to say, I feel guilty for sharing this item since I cannot point you in the right direction. If you’d like to join me on the wait list, click here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27143810

If you want to be sure you get the camera, here’s the Amazon link for considerably more: https://amzn.to/46SqtZ0

The next item on her list is an Oura ring. I am fully on board with this idea as I love mine! The analytics are very helpful. Naturally, Emery wants the gold version. I thought she might be all in on the new pink color, but she still wants gold. Shop on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/4nvbs56. If you want one of the new ceramic colors, click here: https://amzn.to/3WrJds8 I’m tempted to upgrade mine with one of the colors.

Bodie asked for Apple headphones for his birthday earlier this year. Emery fancies herself an Airpod girl, but she borrowed Bodie’s headphones recently and now she’s drinking the Kool Aid. I switched from Airpods to headphones (mine are Bose) several months ago and there’s no going back. The noise cancelling feature and sound quality are far superior to any ear buds. So is the comfort. Shop the Apple headphones here: https://amzn.to/3KBy1Xg

The Bose QuietComfort headphones are a slightly better price point and just as wonderful. Shop them here: https://amzn.to/46nLvi8

Emery’s current Macbook Air is still going strong, so this is not actually on her list. However, these laptops are amazing and she uses her rose gold Macbook daily. The new version is even faster with an amazing display. She likes the 13″ so it easily fits in her backpack. It’s already on sale on Amazon! More than $100 off. The new blue color would be her first choice, I’m sure. I’ve shared this before (grad gift?), but they’re truly remarkable compact computers. Check it out here: https://amzn.to/46J7NcM

I am resigned to the fact that athleisure attire is still Emery’s clothing of choice. It’s hard to get excited about buying more sweats and leggings, but I do like these Parke sweatshirts that are popular here lately. I do not love the return policy (all sales final; proceed with caution), but I am confident this will be a keeper. Shop them here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27144392

Birkenstocks are here to stay, it seems. Emery got the Boston clogs last year and still loves them. My niece has a pair at the top of her Christmas list. She wants the original suede in taupe, like most of the other teen girls. I think the new braids, big buckles and rivets are a fun twist, but the girls seem to like the plain style. Zappos is my go-to for these Birks. https://go.shopmy.us/p-27144958

I am thrilled that David Yurman’s iconic cable bracelets are having a moment again. I love the mixed metals and the fun pop of color. A DY stack is tough to beat. The price point is less than ideal, but Emery and I can share. The OG is available here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-26419733

Emery is a robe girl, just like me. She is particularly fond of terry cloth robes because she wears one after her shower while getting ready. Her current robe is looking kind of ratty after years of wear. My mom actually bought Emery a beautiful Weezie robe two years ago, but Emery left it in the condo on a ski trip and we never saw it again. Weezie robes are incredible, but they are also expensive. This Nordstrom robe has great reviews, is super cute, and a fraction of the price of Weezie. I hope this sale price sticks around. Ski attire is something we take very seriously at Chez Slagel. Ben and I are Team Stio. Bodie wears Helly Hansen. Helly Hansen is probably the brand I see most when on the hill. Emery currently wears a mix of hand me downs and a shell jacket meant for snowboarding that she just had to have because it’s pink. Now that she is done growing and cares more about performance than looks, it’s time for her to get a nice ensemble to wear on the mountain. I am really torn between these two sets: one by Stio and one by Helly Hansen. I’m going to let Emery choose (and ruin the surprise), but this is too much money to not be certain it’s what she wants. I’m sharing both of my top choices because they are sure to thrill any lady who skis. These are the exact Stio pieces I own, so I can attest to their awesomeness. Shop Environ here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27146824 (pants) and https://go.shopmy.us/p-27146939 (jacket).

Here’s the Helly Hansen option. Also beautiful and built for long days on the slopes. Insulated pants are available here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27146293 and the coordinating jacket here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27146486

Another crucial ski item is goggles. Emery’s had the same pair for at least four seasons. It’s time to replace them. I should note that I have had the same pair for a decade. So has Ben. Shockingly, teenagers do not take great care of items that can scratch. We love Smith. They are the GOAT. Particularly Smith Optics Squad. These come with two lenses (sunny and low light), fit your face perfectly, and never get foggy. Trust me. Shop here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27146133 I really should include these in every Christmas gift guide because they are perfect for everyone. I think Em will like pink, but the color choices are plentiful.

Moving on to my favorite: stocking stuffers! I love filling my kids’ stockings with random little surprises. Emery steals my nippies ALL THE TIME. I buy these every time they are on sale, and yet I am somehow frequently without. Honestly, probably more of a summer need than a winter essential, but I’m still buying them. https://amzn.to/3WmcRz1

Teen girls know way more about makeup than I ever will, so I do not feel qualified to share much on this topic. However, Emery recently gifted a friend this Chanel Glossimer lip gloss for her Sweet Sixteen and I have been informed that the recipient and her sister fight over it daily. I love Chanel lip glosses and am happy to learn that teens also appreciate the quality. Emery would like one of her own. https://go.shopmy.us/p-27145976

Another item of mine that Emery frequently borrows is my hair tools silicone travel pouch. This is such an inexpensive solution to one of my top packing problems: a hot curling iron or straightener. Sometimes both, which makes the two pack ideal. These are great stocking stuffers or little surcees for any female, honestly. https://amzn.to/3VTpVfc

I get my children a new ornament for their bedroom tree each year. I want to do a tennis ornament for Em since she’s played so much in 2025. This pink and green racquet from Revolve is PERFECT. I need one for myself. In fact, I need every single thing on Emery’s gift guide, come to think of it. https://go.shopmy.us/p-27145821

I’ll leave you with a ridiculously expensive blanket, but everyone I know that has one is obsessed with it. Bodie actually asked for this, too. I’m talking about a Lola blanket. I think the price is quite high, but they sure are pretty. I love this seafoam or cheetah print for Em. Probably gray or navy for Bodie. Shop here: https://go.shopmy.us/p-27145679

I hope this gives you some ideas if you’re shopping for a teen girl. Truthfully, they are usually very prolific when it comes to curating holiday wish lists. Or at least in my family. Boys are much tougher, which is why Bodie’s gift guide is shorter. As always, I try to sift through the nonsense to find items they will actually use and enjoy. Happy shopping!
