I’m not just referring to monogram orders, although those are keeping me plenty busy at the moment. I’m talking about life in general. Sports, school events, finals, Mother’s Day, etc. ALL THE THINGS. We are scrambling to make it to the end of the school year, but having plenty of fun along with the chaos.
Both Emery and Bodie wrapped up their spring sports in recent days, soccer for Emery and flag football for Bodie (although they are both in summer leagues as well). Emery’s rec soccer team won the whole enchilada at the spring tournament, which was extra special since her team will not be together next season due to some girls ageing out and moving up. We love this team!

Bodie’s football season wasn’t quite as successful as Emery’s soccer season, but they did manage to squeak into the playoffs and even win their first playoff game. They ultimately lost in the championship, but played well.

Following our busy weekend of sports, we were lucky enough to attend the Zach Bryan concert at The Well Monday, May 6th. Starting the week with a late concert after an insanely busy weekend and while in the midst of Maycember is not for weak. We persevered and had a fabulous night with great friends. Zach Bryan and his band are incredible. I’d love to see them again. Not gonna lie, the rest of the week was brutal, but ZLB is totally worth it.

The very next evening Emery had her spring chorus performance. This show highlighted female composers and we were treated to songs by Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, Katy Perry, The Supremes and more. It was a very fun evening! Emery loves her chorus teacher and plans to continue taking his classes next year.

My parents came up for the concert and since we apparently think sleep is overrated, we stayed up super late (again) playing Rummikub. I know this game has been around for eons, but it’s new to my family. We love it! I especially love that it makes me use my brain and keeps my kids off their phones for some good ol’ fashioned fun. It’s easy enough for older kids (Bodie is a great player at twelve), yet challenging enough for big brains. 10/10 recommend. You can get it here: https://amzn.to/4ajjjvf. I think we’ll pack this for our beach trip in a few weeks. Best $18 you’ll ever spend.

Emery and I headed to Columbia, SC, Saturday afternoon to watch her high school girls’ varsity soccer team play for the state championship. THEY WON! It was the most exciting game I’ve ever been to, complete with four overtimes and sudden death. Eastside ladies now have back to back state titles. As fun as the game was, the best part was spending time with family that I wish I got to see more often, even if they were cheering for the other team.

Mother’s Day was delightful…my family treated me to brunch at the country club, I got my car detailed and I’m the proud owner of a Dyson stick vac (yes, I asked for that) and a new Kindle paperwhite. Ben prepared smash burgers for dinner and Emery organized our kitchen closet. The perfect day! Of which I took zero pictures. That’s usually a good sign, right?
I have been busy, busy, busy with lots of monogramming orders. I think I need to dedicate an entire post to the fun orders I’ve had the pleasure of working on lately. I am so thankful for new and repeat customers. One full day and two half days of school are all that remain and then it’s time for SUMMER!!!! I am so ready to sleep in, not pack lunches and lounge by the pool with my new Kindle. Read about the Kindle here: https://emerybodie.com/mothers-day-gift-or-grad/
Have a great week!
