We had the most amazing spring weekend. It was seriously perfect. We got the ball rolling with Bodie’s baseball game Saturday morning. The weather was sunny and warm and Bodie had a phenomenal game. So phenomenal, in fact, that he got the game ball! He’s been practicing in the backyard with his daddy and things are really falling into place. Although his fielding still needs work (I think most six year olds struggle with that), his hitting game is strong. Bodie had two solid hits, both of which were on the first pitch, which is what earned him the game ball. So proud of him!
After baseball we headed to Piney Mountain Bike Lounge. I’d heard about this place, but we hadn’t ventured out there until Saturday. Let’s just say it exceeded our expectations. Emery was itching to test out her new mountain bike and with the weather so glorious, Saturday seemed like the perfect day to test the waters. Piney Mountain Bike Lounge is a really nice bike shop (they sell all sorts of bikes and accessories) with a bar (yummy beer selection) and a porch that overlooks a little pump track for kids. Emery rode her bike for a solid two hours and loved every second. Our friends and their two little boys joined us and all the kids had fun. Bodie even got out there and did a few laps. He’s not super confident on terrain yet, but this was a great spot to practice.
There goes Bodie on his little blue bike and tie dye tee shirt.

The boys took a break to taunt Emery. Taunt away, boys! She dominated that track.
Emery and Davis. These two are competing in an adventure race in NC April 29th, so this was good practice.
Emery had one serious wipeout, but she’s still smiling! Tough girl. Her face was painted from earlier in the day. Northwood Little League had face painting and bouncy houses during Saturday’s games. Emery couldn’t have cared less about her elbow. Her primary concern was that she didn’t smudge her face paint.
Our 11th wedding anniversary was Saturday, so hubs and I had a date night. We enjoyed a delicious dinner sitting outside at Nantucket. The night was warm and downtown could not have been prettier. I love our little city.
I have been crazy busy with EmeryBodie stuff, but only managed to take a few pictures. Clipboards for teacher appreciation week and a hooded baby towel. Both fun orders!
Lastly, Bodie asked Emery to give him “Tanner Fox hair” after his shower last night. Bodie loves watching Tanner Fox on YouTube. Although Bodie’s hair is a bit too long to recreate Tanner’s exact do, Emery did a pretty good job styling him! I am so jealous of Bodie’s hair. I pay good money for highlights in an attempt to get the exact shade of blonde and my hair has never been that thick or straight. Not fair!
I hope your week is off to a great start!
