If I Registered for my Wedding in 2024 (part 3)

Happy Wednesday! We’ve made it to linens, towels and other “around the house” gifts that would be a good idea on a wedding registry. You can catch up with table setting/entertaining in part 1 here https://emerybodie.com/if-i-registered-for-my-wedding-in-2024-part-1/ and all the kitchen gadgets in part 2 here

I swear I have tried every brand of sheets on the market and I’ve learned A LOT. The biggest takeaways are that Pottery Barn sheets wrinkle horribly and that quality is often not reflected in the price tag. The sheets we finally settled on after years of trial and error are the Boll and Branch Signature Hemmed set. They feel luxurious, wash beautifully, and aren’t ridiculously expensive. They’re not exactly cheap, but trust me when I tell you that you can pay a lot more and get a lot less. I always opt for white. Nothing beats crisp white sheets! Amazon makes it easy to shop Boll and Branch here: https://amzn.to/3TbVNLl

Just like my sheets, I always opt for white towels. I like knowing I can bleach things. Our current towels are the Charisma brand from Costco, which are great. I feel like this is a similar option on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3wxDYxF Don’t forget the bath mat! These are also a great gift for students heading off to college. FYI, I know someone who can monogram them.

Towels

Rather than purchase complete bedding sets, I’ve learned it’s a much better look to start with a neutral base layer and embellish with the fancy shams and pillows. I’m partial to Designer’s Guild (https://www.designersguild.com/). Most of the beds in my house are just that: basics from Amazon and drama from Designers Guild. Photos below.

You can achieve this look with these quilts: https://amzn.to/49yP04q

Every home needs a few plush throws for extra warmth in bed or snuggling on the couch. This Barefoot Dreams dupe is definitely the favorite blanket in our house. My sister gave me one for Christmas several years ago and it is used daily. I need a few more for the porch and other bedrooms. Definitely add a few of these stylish blankets to your registry. Good luck choosing a color. https://amzn.to/4bPBfQ9

Best Throw Ever

The last, but certainly not least, of the linens: white linen dinner napkins. Cloth napkins elevate any meal and they really aren’t difficult to keep looking good. I don’t even iron mine if I get them out of the dryer ASAP. I always get white because they are so easy to clean and never fade. Plus, they look fabulous with a monogram. I have a person for that….https://amzn.to/4bQJk7g

Cloth Napkins

I realize not everyone gets as excited as me when discussing linens, so I’ll move on to a more exciting topic: decor. I registered for several picture frames when we were married as I figured I’d need some way to display our wedding photos. Fast forward seventeen years and most of those frames are still used in my house. Classic designs never go out of style. I’ll link with the photos below.

Add a touch of southern charm with these since my style is “coastal grandma.”

Acrylic frames are a great way to get a lot of bang for your buck. I have several of these on my desk and I adore the clean lines. I still get to enjoy my photographs, but without clutter.

Now that you’ve got your frame situation sorted, you should add a few more decor pieces. I love a low profile vase filled with flowers regardless of the season. This rattan covered vase (remember, my style is “coastal grandma”) is perfect for a side table, ottoman, kitchen counter, bedroom, bathroom and more. Fill it with hydrangeas, tulips, peonies, roses, mums, sunflowers, etc., for year round cheer. It’s available in both wide mouth or bottleneck styles.

Lighting a candle instantly makes even ordinary moments feel special. I’ve got one burning right now. A Volcano candle would make a great shower or housewarming gift, so I’d add a few to my registry.

I’ll leave you with something completely random, but it’s honestly one of the most useful things I own. My in laws gave this to us for Christmas several years ago and we love it, even the kids! This would be a fun gift for a couples shower or “honey-do” shower. Everyone needs a Battery Daddy. Pro tip: stock it with batteries to amp up the wow factor.

If you’re still with me, thank you! I had a lot of fun curating this registry and hope you find it useful.

Have a great Wednesday!
