We survived Emery’s first homecoming! Actually, we didn’t just survive….we managed to host a very successful picture party and dinner beforehand. My sister, Alison, was kind enough to come up from Atlanta for the evening to photograph the revelers. I can’t tell you how helpful a professional photographer is in situations like this. She was able to organize the groups/couples, find the best light and coax good poses out of them. If you’re in the Atlanta area (East Cobb is her home base), consider hiring her for picture parties. Alison also specializes in family photos and senior photo shoots. HK Images: https://hkimages.zenfolio.com/

Professional Photos

I snapped a few on my own and the quality doesn’t compare. I wish I’d thought to ask my sister to snap a few pictures of my dining room, but I forgot, so I took a few after all the kids left, but it wasn’t quite the same.

The tables and linens are from Amazon and am thrilled with how easy everything came together. I’ll link below. I’ve rented tables and linens for parties in the past and decided to take the plunge. If I use these just a handful of times, I’ve come out ahead. I chose royal blue for school events and a set of plain white for other celebrations.

Amazon Tables and Linens

The tables are sturdy and easy to fold/unfold. I couldn’t be happier. With the holidays approaching, these will get lots of use. I can see myself setting some up on the back porch during football games, Thanksgiving and our annual cookie swap. These are definitely going to get lots of use. The linens are available here in white, black and blue: https://amzn.to/48prKFQ

Worth mentioning: I washed the table cloths in cold water and although they washed well, the blue did bleed. So plan on doing these as a separate load.

I hope your Wednesday is going swimmingly! This week is a “normal” week for us…five days, no dances, etc. I am in GSD mode. IYKYK.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that we purchased Emery’s amazing dress and shoes at Dressing Dreams in Hartwell, GA. We were not loving the selection in Greenville. A dear friend suggested Dressing Dreams (only about an hour from here) and we loved our experience. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The inventory is better than anything I’ve ever seen. It’s worth the drive!
