Holiday Gift Guide: Teen/Tween Girls

To the surprise of no one, this gift guide is the lengthiest of the bunch. If you’ve met Emery, you know why. Girlfriend asks for EVERYTHING. This year is actually really fun because many of the items I can share with her. Moms of teen girls, I’m sure you can relate. I go to Emery for hair and makeup help more than she comes to me now. And although our clothing style is different, we do share a love of big sweatshirts and trucker hats, so there’s that. Not to mention jewelry.

I quickly realized that I would only need to break this gift guide down into two categories: beauty and fashion. There’s plenty of each. We’ll start with beauty.

Beauty

I had so much fun coming up with these items with Emery. Honestly, I would be thrilled to receive any of these as well. Emery’s number one beauty item is mascara. It’s the one item she will not leave the house without every morning. Her go-to formula is Tarte’s Big Ego. She usually saves up to purchase this during a trip to Sephora. However, I’m thrilled to report I found it on Amazon.

Tarte Big Ego Mascara

I’m not sure if she’s so loyal to this particular product because she likes the way it works or if she’s just a fan of the hot pink tube…see for yourself here: https://amzn.to/3Eh3h98

Speaking of Tarte products, this mini cheek palette is perfect. It includes a blush, bronzer and highlighter. The colors are gorgeous and Emery has taught me a thing or two about highlighting and contouring. This is ideal for travel and also everyday use. Anything to control the clutter that is all over her vanity every day! Bonus: all Tarte products are cruelty free.

Unfortunately, this is a limited edition palette, so snag it now here: https://www.sephora.com/product/clay-play-to-go-cheek-palette-P500620?skuId=2590248&icid2=products%20grid:p500620:product

This next item is more of a stocking stuffer goody, but it’s good nonetheless. This is yet another product I never used until recently, thanks to Emery. Since she frequents my shower, I get to use all of her good smelling lotions and potions. I’m embarrassed to admit that I used to shave with just water (terrible, I know), but now I’m hooked on this EOS shave cream. Emery will NEVER shave without cream, so this is a frequent purchase. Christmas is a good time to stock up and gift her something she actually needs.

Not only are the bottles pretty, but the scents are fabulous. Even better? EOS is cleaner than many other shaving creams. The ladies in your life will be thrilled to try these. Purchase here: https://amzn.to/3CxyT8X

My tweezers apparently grow legs and walk right out of my bathroom on the regular. If you also have that problem, add some Tweezerman tweezers to your daughter’s stocking. I actually buy these every year. Sometimes the Easter Bunny brings some as well. I keep them in our first aid kit, in my travel bag, my bathroom, and Emery’s bathroom. Yet somehow we never have enough. Thank goodness for Amazon and their quick shipping.

Tweezerman Tweezers

I’m partial to the pink, but they’re available in other fun shades. Check them out here: https://amzn.to/3EgGo5v.

For what it is, I think this next beauty product is wildly expensive. However, the holidays are a time to splurge and I know Emery will be ecstatic to receive the OG Beauty Blender in her stocking. That being said, I’ve purchased off brand makeup sponges several times and really can’t tell the difference. So, I’ll link both and you can decide which route to take.

Makeup Sponges
The Original Beauty Blender Sponge
Knockoff Sponges (pack of 5)

As you can see, they look very similar and both have rave reviews. However, the prices are drastically different. The OG blender is $17 (available here: https://amzn.to/3Cv1hZu) while the pack of five BEAKEY sponges is $10 (get them here: https://amzn.to/3yfnU1g). Either is a fun addition to a stocking!

I’m a Nars girl when it comes to concealer, but Emery is a huge fan of Tarte’s concealer. I stumbled upon this mini Maracuja Creaseless Concealer on Sephora’s web site and immediately scooped one up for Emery’s stocking. The size is adorable and the price is excellent. I’m all about buying cleaner beauty products for her!

Tarte Concealer

Purchase from Sephora here: https://www.sephora.com/product/mini-creaseless-under-eye-concealer-P447364?skuId=2252179&icid2=products%20grid:p447364:product. It’s also available at Ulta here: https://www.ulta.com/p/travel-size-creaseless-full-coverage-under-eye-concealer-pimprod2013902.

I *almost* feel guilty buying this for Emery because I fully intend to use it myself. I’ll likely buy this same facial steamer for my nieces as well. The reviews are excellent and the process seems very relaxing. I can’t wait for Emery to open this Christmas morning! Don’t forget to stock up on distilled water ahead of time. I’m certain Emery will want to use immediately.

Available in rose gold or beige on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3M9Gm1q

A toothbrush may seem like a big whomp whomp for a Christmas gift, but my kids each received these last year and were oddly excited about them. In fact, they asked for them. They’re great for travel and mount to the mirror, which helps keep the vanity clear. A year later and they’re still going strong.

Quip Toothbrush

Quip toothbrushes are available in several colors, which is nice if your kiddos share a bathroom or when traveling. https://amzn.to/3e1CmDv

Per Emery, “everyone wears gold claw clips now.” I have not verified this claim, but this set is super cute with rave reviews. Hand picked directly by Emery, these are the current must have hair accessory.

Gold Claw Clips

I’m honestly shocked by the reviews given the price, but decide for yourself here: https://amzn.to/3SBCl8f

Every time Emery comes into a drug store with me, she asks for Mighty Patches. Christmas is a great time to stock up on these pimple remedies. The reviews speak for themselves. I guess every teen, boy or girl, would benefit from these.

Mighty Patches

Another possible “whomp whomp” gift, but Emery actually begged for this the other day. I can’t speak from personal experience, but the reviews for this teeth whitening kit are excellent. And it’s way cheaper than the dentist.

SmileDirect Whitening Kit

I’ve seen this exact kit in CVS, but here’s the link on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3MlQpR7

You know what is the perfect compliment to most of these beauty gifts? A monogrammed cosmetic bag, of course! I happen to know where you can get some…

Monogrammed Cosmetic Bags

The clear vinyl bags have been a top seller for the past two years…get one here: https://emerybodie-llc.myshopify.com/products/monogrammed-vinyl-bag. The leopard train case is a newer item and is perfect for larger items/longer trips. See for yourself here: https://emerybodie-llc.myshopify.com/products/fun-leopard-cosmetic-bag

The biggest item on Emery’s Christmas list is the hard to come by Dyson Air Wrap. I can scarcely beleive the price tag of this thing, but I do LOVE my Dyson hair dryer, so maybe it’s worth the hype? Regardless, it’s at the top of her list. At this moment, it appears to be in stock at Ulta and Sephora, but I can’t guarantee this will last. Bottom line, if someone on your shopping list wants this hair tool, shop now.

Dyson AirWrap

Shop at Ulta here: https://www.ulta.com/p/special-edition-airwrap-multi-styler-complete-long-in-vinca-blue-rose-pimprod2034744 and Sephora here: https://www.sephora.com/product/special-edition-dyson-airwrap-multi-styler-complete-P501508?skuId=2612943&icid2=products%20grid:p501508:product

Whew! That wraps up the beauty portion of this gift guide….now time to move onto the fashion ideas!

Fashion

I’m super excited for this first item on the list because I will DEFINITELY be borrowing….an Aviator Nation sweatshirt! The price tag is a bitter pill to swallow, but I love the look. I’m honestly having a tough time choosing a front runner. All of the Unisex Crew Sweatshirts are fabulous.

Aviator Nation

Beach or mountains??? How can I choose? Peruse them here: https://www.aviatornation.com/collections/unisex-crew-sweatshirts.

Another fun AN option is a hat. I’m partial to the green Aspen trucker….https://www.aviatornation.com/collections/trucker-hats

Damn, Emery and her friends have expensive taste. Apparently Roller Rabbit pajamas are all the rage lately. I know a few friends mentioned their daughters just had to have them at camp this summer, and the popularity seems to only be increasing. I have a RR bag a sweet friend gifted me for my 40th and I love it. The pajamas are made with the same sweet prints and are of the highest quality material. So, the cost is understandable. Honestly, it’s a breath of fresh air to have something like this on Emery’s Christmas list!

Roller Rabbit Pajamas

The shorts sets are also darling and may be more practical for down south, but I’m partial to the long pants. Have fun choosing here: https://rollerrabbit.com/collections/pajamas

This is the bag I have if you want to purchase something that doesn’t require sizing: https://rollerrabbit.com/collections/makeup-toiletry-bags/products/monkey-makeup-bag-blue. I keep it in my purse and it holds my hand sanitizer, lipstick and a feminine product perfectly.

As much as I resisted the idea of getting Emery another piece of technology for her birthday last summer, this Apple watch has been wonderful. I love that I can reach her even when she doesn’t have her phone on her. Plus, she enjoys the fitness tracker properties.

Apple Watch

The exact watch I bought Emery is linked here: https://amzn.to/3V4dA6k. Of course she didn’t love the band that came with the watch, so this came in handy. Amazon has a ton of Apple watch bands, just double check the size of the watch.

Watch Bands

At these prices, you can have a different band for every day of the week! https://amzn.to/3SAEDEp DOUBLE CHECK WATCH SIZE BEFORE ORDERING!

A must have for anyone with an Apple watch is a screen protector. Go ahead and add this life saver to your cart as well: https://amzn.to/3yfUpga Again, DOUBLE CHECK WATCH SIZE BEFORE ORDERING!

You know what makes a new Apple watch band even cuter??? A charm! I fell hard for these while perusing the EP Fine Jewelry web site. I don’t have an Apple watch, but these make me want to get one!

Apple Watch Charms

Shop early for these watch charms! And most of the items on the EP Fine Jewelry site as they are almost all custom. Trust me, they are worth the wait. Shop here: https://epfinejewelry.com/collections/watch-charms

You know this couldn’t be a teen/tween gift guide without including at least one item from Lululemon, right? I’m happy to report that this belt bag is actually practical and reasonably priced. This is another gift I plan to borrow from Emery from time to time. Apparently they are not always in stock, so grab them while you can. At the moment, the fleece version (which I love and think is perfect for Christmas) is the only option available online. However, my MIL was recently in the store in Whistler and they had a ton of every color. So, it’s pretty hit or miss.

Lululemon Belt Bag

I’d suggest checking here daily and jumping as soon as the color you want is available: https://shop.lululemon.com/p/bags/Everywhere-Belt-Bag/_/prod8900747?color=46178

The Kendra Scott trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere and I am perfectly okay with that. I love the designs and also the company’s philosophy. The recent philanthropic collection dedicated to breast cancer research is especially gorgeous. I will happily purchase this for Emery.

Kendra Scott Butterfly Pendant

Good news: the teen obsession with Golden Goose shoes seems to have some competition from a less pricey shoe. Bad news: they are tough to find. I know several girls amongst Emery’s friends who are asking Santa to deliver a pair of Nike Dunk Triple Pink lows. As of now, GOAT (https://www.goat.com/sneakers/dunk-low-gs-triple-pink-dh9765-600) seems to be your best bet.

Nike Triple Pink

Adorable, right? I also found a few on eBay, so I would suggest searching there. I know plenty of people love GOAT and have had great experiences, but I did not. In fact, it was a bit of a customer service nightmare last winter when I was on the hunt for Spongebob basketball shoes for Bodie. Ebay is more reliable, in my opinion, as long as the seller has good reviews. I wish I could be more helpful! I debated including these shoes, but I decided to keep them as part of the gift guide so you have some time to scour the internet.

Here’s another pair of shoes that are, thankfully, easy to find: Ugg slippers on Amazon. Just look at all of these fun colors! I should probably include these in the women’s gift guide as well. These will definitely be under the tree to me, from me.

Ugg Slippers

I just love them! They’re like candy for your feet. Choose here: https://amzn.to/3REPD2y

Last, but certainly not least, is the greatest pair of sunglasses ever created. Emery owns these in a pretty yellow shade, but I think this turquoise would be a fabulous addition…for her and me. Here’s what Amazon has to say about them:

Goodr’s Mach GS Polarized Sunglasses put a fresh spin on the classic aviator design. And with a no-slip fit, zero-bounce performance, and UV-blocking polarized lenses, they do more than just look good–they stay put and protect your eyes whether you’re hiking or just kicking back on the beach.

Goodr Kitty Hawker

The Kitty Hawkers are available here: https://amzn.to/3SJSpor.

The OG in this pink shade are also super fun.

OG Goodrs

If the OG is your style, get them here: https://amzn.to/3V6LDdW

I’ll be back tomorrow with the teen/tween gents! That guide is definitely not as lengthy as this one….these girls, oof!
