Lots of good randomness today…..first on the docket:  taco pie.  I hadn’t had this in years, but when I saw it mentioned in a post by Amanda at Dixie Delights (www.dixiedelightsonline.com), I had to make it.  My kids and the hubs enjoyed it, which is a miracle.  I subbed ground turkey breast for the beef in an attempt to make it a bit healthier, but otherwise followed Amanda’s recipe exactly.  This is a fun year round dinner that will definitely be making a regular appearance at my house.My sister has been raving for months about this alternative to traditional toothpaste and I finally got to try them for myself while we were in Grand Cayman.  We are both very committed to using less plastic and these toothpaste bites are an excellent solution.  Even better when paired with a bamboo toothbrush!  The toothpaste tablets are from www.bitetoothpastebits.com and the bamboo toothbrush is from Amazon.  Amazon has other options for toothpaste tablets, but I can only vouch for the Bite brand. Confession:  I watch The Golden Girls almost every day.  I’ve loved them since I was little and the show still makes me laugh 30 something years later.  My friends are all well aware of my love for these sassy ladies, so one of my girls grabbed this shirt for me at Target last year.  I was so excited to bust it out for the Fourth.  I also sported my Clay Walker hat because, like The Golden Girls, he’s also an American legend.  I’ve been listening to Clay since my early teens and catching his performances every chance I get.We’ve got a big trip on the horizon (like, tomorrow) and I have been stressing about how to pack for nine days of travel, most of which will require multiple outfits, without access to laundry facilities.  After hearing all of the rave reviews for these packing cubes, I finally caved and purchased a few sets for the family.  GAME CHANGER.  The hype is real.  I was super skeptical, but they truly do create much more room in a suitcase and now I feel super organized.  Gipper…..bless his heart.  He thinks he’s coming with us.  I wish!  As much as I love to travel, leaving my fur babies behind always makes me sad.Good night!  I need my beauty rest for our big day tomorrow.
