Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today is definitely a kid holiday more than a romantic holiday for hubs and me, although I did get the hubs a little something. This is what Emery and Bodie were greeted with when they came downstairs this morning….lots of Vineyard Vines tees and a new camera strap for Emery.

Ben’s gift is this little platter in honor of his favorite state and also his alma mater. And where we’re heading tomorrow!

I loaded up the platter with these raspberry thumbprint cookies. The recipe is from www.pillsbury.com and it’s delicious. And easy.

Emery’s grade didn’t do valentines this year, so I kind of splurged on Bodie’s since I only had to buy for one. These are from www.minted.com and I could not love them more. I was so excited to have a reason to use one of our Christmas photo shoot pictures. And since “Jaws” is life, we knew we had to incorporate sharks somehow.

I have yet to receive any valentines from my family (no surprise), so I’m hopeful that Ben is out shopping for this. I’ve wanted a late 1960’s Bronco for years, but the price tag on them in above my means. However, I like to play around on the Classic Ford Broncos web site and design my dream Bronco on occasion. This pink one is perfection.

Oh, Gipper. Sharing a bed with you is impossible.

The weather last week was bananas. Serious storms one day, which resulted in the kids spending quite a bit of time in the hallways in duck and cover mode, followed by flooding and cancelled school. Then snow three days later. Crazy! These flood pictures were taken on our golf course. I’m ready for spring.

I finally got around to framing one of our family photos from November. I am smitted with this MacKenzie Childs frame.

Bodie turns 8 tomorrow! I am honestly sad about this. I feel like “eight” sounds so much older than “seven.” We painted the boulder at his school the other day (Notre Dame football themed, of course) and then got a group of his best buddies together to play basketball. He’s a low-key party type of kid, but we sure do love celebrating him.
