I have so much for which I’m thankful and even though I’m guilty of skipping straight from Halloween to Christmas, I truly love Thanksgiving and taking the time to see family we don’t get to see often enough and reflecting on our many blessings. I need to be better about this 365 days of the year.
We kicked off our Thanksgiving break by meeting some friends at Ice on Main for some skating, followed by burgers and milkshakes at Grill Marks. I think this needs to become a new tradition! We had a great time and the rink wasn’t very crowded. We typically skate closer to Christmas and it’s PACKED. Our little downtown Greenville is so pretty, especially during the holidays. Thankful for these sweet friends and their wonderful families.

My contribution to Thanksgiving this year is Better Than Sex Cake and four bottles of red wine. That about sums me up. I sure do love my chocolate and wine!

I took advantage of a fabulous sale at Pier One Imports (I hadn’t been there in ages and now I’m wondering why I don’t go there more often) and scored this happy little yellow chair for our family room. Hubby insists on keeping his recliner facing the television instead of where I like to keep it, so I finally gave up and stopped moving it. But then I thought the corner by the cabinets looked empty, so I was on the hunt for something colorful, inexpensive and small. Enter the Markus chair. I love it! It also comes in green, pink and turquoise. Only all of my favorite colors. I may or may not have purchased another one. Stay tuned.

We’re spending Thanksgiving in Atlanta with my family and Gipper is joining us. He’s not too happy that he’s not riding shotgun.

I’m trying to get some work done during the drive, but Ben’s driving kind of stresses me to the max and I’m having a hard time focusing.

Last weekend the varsity basketball teams at the high school my children will attend hosted a Parents’ Day Out. Emery and Bodie both attended and had the best time. For $15 per kid, they got to play basketball and other games with the boys and girls basketball teams, eat pizza, and watch movies. It was from 2:00 until 6:00. I thought this was such a great idea for a fundraiser. Half of Bodie’s baseball team was in attendance! Love these precious boys.

I fell in love with these fabulous tinsel flamingos at Wal Mart the other day. An entire flock ended up coming home with me.

I love working late into the evenings and then going to sleep with my trees glowing and Hallmark movies playing in the background.

I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday weekend!
