Hello! I’m still alive and well, just BUSY. Homeschooling ain’t for the weak, I’ll tell you that. My son is still only going to school two days per week, but that is about to change after this week. Hopefully. Although my daughter’s school is on a normal five day per week schedule, they’ve had fall break and teacher workdays these past two weeks, all of which seem to fall on days when my son is in school. Also, Emery stayed home sick one day (just allergies, but wanted to get a Covid test before sending her to school) which happened to coincide with a Bodie school day.
Basically, I haven’t had a child free day in what feels like eons. THEN, Hurricane Zeta impacted us and we haven’t had internet since Thursday afternoon. First world problem, I know. Thankfully we have power and cable (because football) and I’m able to hot spot the kids’ computers from my phone, so we’re all good.
We are so fortunate that the storm damage was all cleared and the weather cooperated for a spectacular Halloween. We started the day at Bodie’s final football game of the season. Bodie has played QB a lot this go round and he loves it. Several of his good buddies were on his team, which made it even more fun. These Mighty Llamas (isn’t that a hoot!) gave us quite a show each Saturday.
Flag Football

After a grueling day on the gridiron, some trick or treating was in order! Our crew was smaller than normal, but plenty of neighbors safely handed out candy and the kids had a fabulous evening. Even better that Halloween fell on a Saturday and we didn’t have to worry about bedtimes. BONUS: the extra hour of sleep we got last night thanks to falling back. Finally something 2020 got right!
Bodie dressed as DJ Marshmello while Emery went as Sam from “Sam and Cat.” Her friend went as Cat. We golf carted around the neighborhood and were so happy to see lots of other families out and about. Emery’s friend nailed her Cher Horowitz costume from “Clueless,” didn’t she?
Trick or Treating

The day after Halloween was spent replacing our skeletons and spiders with turkeys. I love any excuse to decorate. Our yard is now sporting a giant inflatable turkey and two turkey wind socks. Our neighbors must love us.
Thanksgiving Decorations

Speaking of Thanksgiving, these are two shirts I managed to squeak out this week for a customer. She had seen designs similar to this on Pinterest.
Fall HTV tees

I’m planning to be much more productive in my little shop after this week. Praying everyone stays healthy!
