Last weekend I snuck away to Kiawah Island for a little R & R with my college roommates. Sadly, one of our squad members wasn’t able to join us due to illness (this season has been brutal!), but we made the most of it and had a few drinks in her honor, including Liz’s famous homemade margaritas.
The weather was oddly cold, but that didn’t matter. We bundled up every day and went for a stroll on the beach regardless. We also nestled in front of the fire and watched lots of great television, read and chatted for hours on end, uninterrupted. I can’t tell you what a joy that is!

We cooked in one night and ventured to Hege’s at Freshfield’s and The Ryder Cup Bar the other nights. We also shopped downtown one day (take all of my money, Hart) and treated ourselves to a delicious lunch at Leon’s.

My sister brought these cute surcees….Moroccan Oil hand soap embellished with Notre Dame flair. It’s the little things, like luxurious hand soap, that really brighten my day.

The television we so enjoyed consisted of “Fool Me Once,” “Maestro,” and Seth Meyers’s “Lobby Baby.” I highly recommend all three, depending on if you’re wanting a series, a movie or a laugh out loud stand up comedy routine. Now I really want tickets to a Seth Meyers show.
Quality TV

I highly recommend a girls trip with very little on the agenda. And sometimes the beach is even better during the off season. Happy Tuesday!
