Father’s Day Gift Guide

Personally, I think we should still be celebrating Mother’s Day, but I reckon it’s time to start thinking of Father’s Day gifts. I have a hard time coming up with gift ideas for my baby daddy, so this guide consists of many items he already owns and loves.

First up, Patagonia Black Hole Duffel bags. These bags are extremely durable and come in several sizes for all of your travel needs. They include backpack straps for times when a duffel isn’t convenient. Also, the colors are fun! Hubs prefers the basic black, but I think the other options are quite attractive.

REI is my usual stop for all things Patagonia. Links to the bags below:

The next items are all kitchen related. Hubs couldn’t care less about many kitchen items, but he’s extremely picky about knives. Not only does he have his favorites, he’s determined to keep them sharp. The knives we use most often are our Henckels four inch paring knives and the eight inch classic chef knife. These are available on Amazon, linked below:

Henckels Knives

To keep these babies performing at the top of their game, hubby uses this knife sharpener every few months. It’s small enough to fit in a drawer and does an excellent job. If memory serves, my in laws gave this to Ben for Christmas several years ago. The price is a little steep, but it’s totally worth it. Chopping, dicing and slicing have never been easier. Besides, isn’t there some research floating around on the world wide web that states you’re more likely to cut yourself badly with a dull knife than a sharp knife? This makes sense if you stop and think about it; a dull knife requires more force when cutting. A cut from a sharp knife tends to be smaller and cleaner. Or so they say. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004S1B8?ie=UTF8&tag=emerybodie-20&camp=1789&linkCode=xm2&creativeASIN=B00004S1B8

A more budget friendly option on Amazon is this sharpener: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007IVBET0/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B007IVBET0&linkCode=as2&tag=emerybodie-20&linkId=f4d8f277bf499a6e05f4184cce9ff0fe. I can’t speak to the effectiveness of this particular model since we have the other model, but the reviews are excellent.

Switching things up a bit and sharing an item that Ben does not actually use yet, but I’ll be grabbing several more of these next time I go to the store or place an Amazon order. I purchased this on a whim a few weeks ago and I’m impressed. This sunscreen mist is compact, which makes it perfect for tossing in a golf or tennis bag. I’ve been misting my face, neck and forearms before my runs and Bodie’s football games and it gets the job done. It is clear, dries quickly and smells good. I’m hopeful hubs will be a bit more diligent with the SPF if it doesn’t leave white residue or take up a lot of room in his bag. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HWKD7X2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B08HWKD7X2&linkCode=as2&tag=emerybodie-20&linkId=45a072fd1b862af45e7c80f9c4a07d09

If water sports are your jam, this might be a better option as it’s water resistant. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YFGVHW5/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07YFGVHW5&linkCode=as2&tag=emerybodie-20&linkId=63e276b306d005e0751474770d7ce2a5

Both of these sprays have thousands of rave reviews, but they’re new to me. After just a few weeks of use, I agree with the reviewers!

Neutrogena Face Mist Sunscreen

The final item on my gift guide is another item that Ben does not currently use, but I plan on getting some of these amazing chairs soon! I noticed many families at my nephew’s baseball game over the weekend were rocking these brilliant chairs. They offer sun protection, a drink holder, and a rocking mechanism to keep you cool and comfortable during sweltering baseball tournaments. The GCI Pod Rocker Collapsible Rocking Chair covers all the bases. I am definitely snagging a few of these for football games and swim meets. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N716W14/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07N716W14&linkCode=as2&tag=emerybodie-20&linkId=2c03aabbdc44fe40aab31a3389b6e95c

I hope this guide provides some inspiration. Like I said, shopping for the fellas is not my forte, but these items are sure to please the men in your life. Good luck!

Happy Monday! Swim team starts today and I’m here for it! Team Slagel is so ready for all things summer.

xoxo,

Ashley
