If you recall, Emery’s fifteenth birthday landed on Father’s Day. Both of her grandparents were in town, as well as her own dad (obviously), so Em’s big day took a back seat. I promised her I would host a sixteenth bash to make up for it. Not to toot my own horn, but I delivered, thanks to the best vendors in all of Greenville. Mother Nature was also a key player. The storms moved out just in time for us to get everything set up. Whew!
Emery wanted good music, a dance floor, delicious food, fun drinks and a pink and orange color scheme. I loved making her dreams a reality. My first call was to Professional Party Rentals. They have been in business for many years and were always so helpful when I was tasked with planning events for The Junior League of Greenville. They can handle everything from a small dinner party to an enormous Korn Ferry golf tournament. As expected, they were a dream to work with and made Emery’s vision a reality. I booked the tables, chairs, dance floor, linens, china, flatware and glasses from PPR. I also rented a beautiful boxwood greenery bar and an exquisite hot pink loveseat with gold side tables for photo ops. The fabulous balloon arch is from Knots and Twists Balloons. I got their information from PPR as well as the event planner for our country club. I did a balloon arch ONCE and that was enough. Knots and Twists Balloons created the perfect backdrop and they were a dream to work with. If you’re local, their web site is: https://knotsandtwistsballoons.com/

I purchased the vases from Amazon to go with the gold accents. The flowers are from Publix, as is the cake. I typically order cakes from Couture Cakes, but with Em’s party being on a Monday, that wasn’t possible. The Publix Bakery made a beautiful and tasty cake for less than $100!

Tipsy Taco catered the party and, as always, it was a crowd pleaser. We did a taco bar with all the fixings, plus chips with queso and salsa. I ordered food for thirty five and it was a gracious plenty. I will definitely use them again for events at my house. The food was delivered right on time and the chafing dishes kept everything nice and warm all night. I always love eating in Tipsy Taco locations. I’m thrilled that their catering is just as lovely.
I somehow failed to get a photo of the deejay! His name is Austin and he’s incredible. If you are in the Upstate and need a deejay, send me a message and I will share his information. The same goes for my bartender. Her name is Lauren. She is fabulous. Not only did she make beautiful mocktails, but she was super helpful cleaning glasses and plates as the night went on. I have to thank my friends as well. Several dear friends whose kids were at the party stuck around for the evening to keep the plates, forks and glasses stocked. It takes a village! I am extremely grateful.
Emery, I am so proud of you! You are the life of the party and so easy to celebrate. I can’t believe you’re sixteen.
