That happened fast. My first born is fifteen years old (June 16th) and I have no idea how we got here so quickly. The days are long, but the years are short. I’ve never felt this more.
Emery’s big day fell on Father’s Day, so we had an extra special family celebration with all of the grandparents in town. How fortunate are we that everyone could be together? It’s something I never take for granted.
Emery wanted to go shopping for her birthday, so the day before her actual birthday my mother in law and I took her and a friend downtown to the Lululemon store. We also enjoyed being tourists in our own town and strolled through Falls Park and took a few minutes to cool down in the lobby of the Grand Bohemian hotel. My MIL hadn’t seen the hotel yet, so that was fun to show her. If you’re planning a visit to Greenville, stay there!

Sunday was the perfect day of golf, relaxation, cards, Rummykub and gifts! What more could the dads and the birthday girl want? Emery’s cookie cake was “Grey’s Anatomy” themed from Publix. She is obsessed with the show, mostly because of Derek Shepherd. Can’t say that I blame her. The cake was a surprise and she was thrilled when she saw it.

As fabulous as the weekend was, it’s safe to say this was Emery’s favorite part of turning 15:
DMV

Emery got her permit last week and is doing pretty well behind the wheel. I’m embracing my new role as a passenger princess!

I hope you’re having a fabulous Monday. Bodie is participating in Furman’s basketball camp this week (he loves this every summer) and Emery is spending hours on the tennis courts every day. I am busy, busy, busy with summer orders. Thank you for that!
