Easter Goodies for Teens (and Adults)

Easter is less than a month from now! I am so excited for consistently warmer temperatures, green grass, flowers and sunshine. The bunny still visits our house, but wow those baskets are getting more and more expensive as the kids age. Gone are the days of pool floats and stuffed animals; the giant rabbit now brings electronics and clothes. However, I do have one very meaningful item that will be in my kids’ baskets this year: a Bible. Bodie needs a new one; his current Bible is meant for younger children. Emery actually has a newish Bible that she uses for youth group, but I’m in need of a new one myself and while researching Bibles for me, I realized Emery could benefit from many of the same features I want (wide margins, tabs, etc.). Ben has no idea where his Bible is, so he is also getting a new one.

I had the hardest time choosing a Bible for Bodie because he’s at an in between age where some of the teen Bibles almost seem a touch juvenile for him, but the men’s Bibles are not necessarily as applicable yet. In the end I went with a teen study Bible for Bodie and a men’s study Bible for Ben. I will share both, starting with the men’s.

The ESV Men’s Study Bible in TruTone Brown seems like the best fit for Ben and also our church. I don’t see him lugging a hardcover Bible into church on Sundays. This will fit nicely in his backpack. Ben isn’t a note taker, so the margins do not need to be wide. I think this is a very handsome Bible and one he will keep forever.

Moving on to the fun stuff (not that Bibles can’t be fun, but I know this will not be Bodie’s favorite Easter gift, even if it is the most meaningful)…

I’ll start with something for the fellas. Emery received her Oura ring for Christmas and, like me, she loves it. While Bodie has no interest in an Oura ring, he has expressed curiousity about his own fitness metrics. My nephew received a Whoop for Christmas and he has nothing but positive feedback. These Birkenstock slides are a great option for the pool, spa, around the house, and before/after soccer or tennis. I love the colors and think they are a much cuter alternative to Crocs. Oy.
