March is moving along quickly! With Easter falling early this year (March 31st) now is the time to start thinking of little gifts to put in your loved ones’ Easter baskets. Or ideas for being your own bunny. I treat Easter baskets much like a Christmas stocking in that the gifts are not big ticket items. The focus is tween/teen boys and girls because that’s who lives with me.
Teen/Tween Fellas
Tween/teen boys are always the most difficult to shop for, regardless of the holiday. However, my nephew came to visit a few weeks ago and inadvertently gave me a few ideas. The first item is Tribal Chimp hair powder. Funny name, I know, but he swears by this stuff. He’s got his dad ordering it as well. I found it on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/433KN67

Another product brought to my attention by my nephew is Cremo cologne. I’d heard of this brand before, but didn’t realize the scope of their scents. They’re all amazing, but the Spice and Black Vanilla (with hints of tobacco) might be my favorite. The price point is excellent. Shop them here: https://amzn.to/4bZg8ea

I was pleasantly surprised to see Cremo body wash at Wal Mart the other day. All of the scents are excellent. It’s also available on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/3IkMEdl

Bodie and I have been trying to increase our protein intake each day. His favorite method? Ghost protein powder. He loves the Chips Ahoy flavor and, shockingly, it actually does taste like a cookie. Bodie will use the frother on our Ninja coffeemaker to blend it into a glass of milk for a little treat. The Easter bunny will likely bring another flavor so he can mix it up. Oreo? Sounds good to me! Try for yourself here: https://amzn.to/43bZlko

Lastly, I want to give the kids something related to the meaning of Easter. I searched high and low for a devotional book I think Bodie might actually read and landed on this one. The reviews are excellent. I’ll link the girl version in Emery’s section, but grab the boys’ edition here: https://amzn.to/3IpwwY8

Emery’s basket will include many beauty products, which is what she loves. Since it’s fixing to be warm weather, Easter is the perfect time to stock up on self tanner. Emery has perfected her technique and found her go-to brand, which is Bondi Sands. I have to admit that this is the only self tanner I’ve encountered that actually smells good. Most importantly, the color is fabulous. Get some here: https://amzn.to/3wKUNVV

The mitt is the MVP in this situation. Available here: https://amzn.to/3It8JGJ

Do yourself a huge favor and include one of these sleep sacks in the basket should you decide to purchase the self tanner. I think I’ve shared this before because it’s been such a game changer. Emery has this and it saves her sheets. https://amzn.to/3P7cBB2

Not only is it self tanning season, it’s also frizzy hair season. I have this Oribe oil and Emery frequently steals it. It’s great to run through the ends of your hair to moisturize and tame frizz. Perfect for a teen girl’s Easter basket: https://amzn.to/49EIo4z

Emery is VERY into curling her eyelashes every morning. I don’t think I’ve ever curled mine, but she is convinced it is a vital step to getting ready. Her eyelash curler is the metal clamp kind and, although she seems to like it, I can’t help but think she would love a heated version. This particular model stays charged for weeks, so it’s perfect for travel. The reviews are the best I could find. This next item is an excellent gift (necessity?) for any woman in your life. Given the recent tragedy in Athens involving a young woman out for a run in broad in daylight, I’ve been extra concerned for my safety and Emery’s safety when out and about. I often feel like our area is a safe little bubble, but I’m more aware than ever that evil lurks everywhere. Sad, isn’t it? That being said, I want Emery (and my mom, sister, friends, etc.) to carry a Birdie. Now that she’s in high school she has much more freedom and I am not always with her. She frequently catches rides with friends who can drive and these girls need all the safety precautions available. If you’re not familiar, a Birdie a small personal safety alarm that not only makes noise, but also has a flashing strobe light. Shop here: https://amzn.to/3T5PR5q

Last (though certainly not least) on my list for girls is the five minute devotions book. Shop it here: https://amzn.to/436iLaa

I hope this helps the Easter bunny in your household! Of course the baskets will be topped off with plenty of candy. We’re partial to Reece’s peanut butter eggs, Cadbury eggs and Starbursts at Chez Slagel.
