Celebratory Weekend

Last Friday my parents celebrated fifty years of marital bliss! That’s no easy feat. That same weekend, Sunday, my sister and I turned forty seven years young. So crazy because I was JUST in college. My parents have a fun trip planned in early fall to commemorate their anniversary and only wanted a nice family dinner on the day of. Alison and I and our families were happy to make that happen.

Happy 50th

Sunday was the best day! I woke to coffee in bed, which I enjoyed while reading and listening to a thunderstorm. How often do I get to experience that? Hint: NEVER. My family gifted me a Herend Chihuahua figurine, which was a total surprise. I’ve wanted a Herend piece for years.

Herend Birthday Gift

If you know me, you know that “Tremors” is one of my all time favorite movies. It’s at the top of my list along with “Jaws” and “Father of the Bride.” I’ve watched it hundreds of times, but I have not seen it on the big screen since 1990. I was ten years old and in fifth grade. Imagine my delight when I learned that Val and Earl and the rest of the Perfection, Nevada, gang would be back in theaters ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!! Thankfully, my kids love “Tremors” as well, so I purchased tickets for us and we spent a blazing hot afternoon enjoying underground monsters in reclining seats.
