I’m writing this post on my phone while sitting in the county courthouse because I have jury duty this week. Eek! So, I apologize for any goofs or typos. This is the first time I’ve ever had jury duty and, so far, it’s exactly what I expected. Lots of waiting, but interesting people to watch.
My family headed down to Atlanta to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday. Dad wanted a low key celebration, so my sister booked us a small room at 101 Steak in Atlanta and just the family, plus one of Dad’s buddies from Notre Dame (who flew down as a complete surprise! So fun!) enjoyed a fabulous dinner while toasting to the birthday boy. I highly recommend 101 Steak. The food is delicious and it’s a really pretty spot located right in the heart of Vinings Village.
Hayes and Bodie are so handsome. Nanny and Hayes have such a special relationship. Hayes has referred to Nanny as his best friend. She loves all of her grandchildren, of course, but Nanny and Hayes are extra close.
Kelsey and Emery….these two are full of bad ideas. I’m terrified of their teenage years.
I brought the cake with me from Greenville. My friend, Shay, makes the most beautiful and delicious cakes. She’s the one responsible for my amazing birthday cake as well. I chose sweet potato for Dad’s cake and it was mouth watering.
My sister and I spent a few hours on our SUPs at Morgan Falls in Sandy Springs. What a gem of a place! High Country Outfitters has a paddle shack right there on the water and they were super helpful and accommodating even though Alison and I didn’t have to rent boards from them. Check it out! Lots of kayaks as well as paddle boards.
While Alison and I paddled around Morgan Falls (it’s connected to the Chattahoochee River), Ben took Bodie and Hayes to check out the super cars at a dealership off Roswell Road. Bodie is fascinated with Lamborghinis and we just don’t see too many of those in Greenville. He was in awe!
The long weekend ended the best possible way: with an Irish victory! Gipper and I watched from the comfort of my bed and, although the first half was super stressful, the second half was so much fun.
