Whoops! I didn’t mean to go so long without posting here, but May was BANANAS and June is shaping up to be the same. I’ve never been busier (yay!), but kids’ activities and visits from friends and family meant something had to give. And that something was the blog. I caved and got a sitter twice this week in an effort to get caught up on orders and post a thing or two on my little site.

May means lots of graduation gifts and surcees for teachers, coaches and teammates. I am flattered that so many people reached out to me this year to help with these items. Below are some photos of a few of the orders that kept me so busy. I didn’t remember to snap a picture of all of them, but you get the idea.

May Orders

Veering off topic now, but I have to admit that the Uvalde, TX, incident left me shattered. I struggled with fear and anxiety after the shooting. I think this particular tragedy really hit home because many of the victims are the same age as Bodie. And for the first time ever, Bodie was nervous to go to school. He kept asking, “how did the shooter get in the building? How come the active shooter drills didn’t work?” I know we all have these questions and I had no idea what to tell him. Of course I want him to feel safe and secure at school, but I also cannot sugarcoat this topic. His life could depend on it. Long story short, I’ve cried more in the last month than I have in the last decade.

I hated feeling helpless and decided to give blood in hopes of making a difference for someone, no matter how small. I hadn’t donated in a long time, but I will now be a regular at The Blood Connection. It was actually a pleasant experience! So, here’s my PSA: if you’re able, please donate!

Blood Donation

The end of school chaos was extra sweet this year. I’ve never been so grateful to be able to watch my children at field day and celebrating with their friends.

I hope your summer is off to a great start. It’s sweltering down here, so lots of hours being logged at the pool. Swim team is, once again, proving to be a great way to keep us on some sort of a routine and providing lots of fun. Go Blades!
